Installing a baby seat in NSW

Can you install a baby seat in your car yourself or do you have to have it done at an approved place?

When we did ours. My partner installed it and I think he got them to check it at the BP service station. Lol.

That's what I thought but wanted to check just in case. We did it ourselves with Cooper but someone told me that some hospitals don't let you leave unless you have a certificate to say that it was done by an approved person. I couldn't find anywhere that says it is law.

There are few RTA approved installers that you could go to. I think if you have your own capsule, the installers charge between 20-40 dollars.
