I was head over heels with the Leander until I found out about the linen issue too. It also looked quite a bit smaller (in length) than most of the other cots that converted to a toddler bed.

In the end we got a great cot which is locally made from plantation wood (yay for the inner hippy aspect). The sides come off the cot to make it a toddler bed, and then after that we figured we'd go to a single bed. The locking mechanism is two buttons one at either end.

It's quite simple looking, not all froofy and country cottage as we're not really into that. Bonus is that it was cheaper than a boori too. I can't remember the brand, but we got it from Baby Carriages in Melbourne.
