    Which lightweight compact stroller?

We have a bugaboo chameleon which is great, but I'm going to the Uk on my own with DD in a couple of months and would like something lightweight, easy to collapse with one hand and compact enough to carry too. So I'm thinking an umbrella stroller.

Any suggestions? I've seen a couple of Maclarens on offer, but don't know if they're any good or what other alternatives there are.

I have a fairly cheap Maclarens that I bought on ebay - it's fantastic. Easy to collapse with one hand but fairly sturdy at the same time. It wouldn't be any good cross-country but for regular paths etc it's fine.

Thanks marydean, I can't really see us going cross-country much with the stroller - I'd tend to use a carrier in that typeof situation, so that sounds good

I recently got a steelcraft eden layback stroller for $170. We have a phil and teds vibe as our regular pram and wanted something that was easy to fly with so the excess luggage thing wouldn't send us broke. It weighs 7.5kg and has a fairly decent basket on it and a pocket on the back of the hood that hangs down over the back of the stroller. I wanted one that would also lay back for DD's sleeps if we were out and about. Recently we flew to Perth for 5 days and while I prefer my phil and teds we are really happy with the steelcraft eden.

    Goodluck with your decision.

we bought a Silvercross Pop and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! - Absolutely awesome stroller, pretty much the same as the Maclaren (except for the head support cushion thingy) but about 80-100 bux cheaper depending where you buy it from

I bought the steelcraft eden layback stroller too, it's great - lightweight, has a decent basket underneath, section on the back to put your phone/purse in, view window, boot cover and is easy to fold up it even has a carry handle.

Goodluck finding a suitable stroller , have a wonderful trip to the UK.

    Thanks

I saw the steelcraft Eden and wondered about it because it was much cheaper than the maclaren, even with the maclaren on sale.

I saw the silver cross online too, and thought it looked quite nice, but I haven't seen it in the shops anywhere.

I used a Maclaren and it was ace and also a steelcraft - almost the same but cheaper and just as good - it doesnt recline as far though.

Either or, quite frankly - depending on one's budget

    Good luck!
