Low Height Change Tables

Expecting my first and had a sudden thought in the middle of the night! I'm a real shortie (only just nudging 5ft) and most of the change tables on the market come up to about my chest height. It's going to be very hard for me to change a bubs and particularly a toddler at that height, as I also have back issues. DH is not much taller than me so has the same problem.

Can anyone suggest a manufacturer who makes lower height change tables? Or perhaps another alternative?

I haven't seen any lower change tables around (there may be some out there, I just haven't seen them ), but you could always just buy a padded change mat and use it on your bed or on a low set of drawers, etc. You can also buy change stations that you can put on a set of drawers or over the cot.

As Trish suggested, a low set of drawers with a change mat on top would do the job perfectly.

That's what I used. I had my old desk from my homework days with a padded change mat on the top.

The desk had a raised edge on both ends so it stopped it slipping away from me but I still only felt safe doing it like that until DD was moving too much as it slipped a bit. (around 7months)

After then I used the mat on the spare bed in the room and knelt down and found that an ok height. Being on my knees was still way better than using the wrong height.

I'm a shortie too! My solution was to get a table from Ikea, just a plain pine square one for around $49, whack a coat of vanish on it for spills and poos etc and voila!

I love it, I have heaps of space on top for wipes, sorbolene, bum cream, hand cream etc as well as the change mat.

If you are worried about bub rolling off, you can always add some extra wood around the sides or do what I do and put it in a corner.

I'm also 'vertically challenged', and found the Boori changetables to be the perfect height. Would be worthwhile you checking them out I think.

Me too! We went and bought one the day we brought DS home as we had an unexpected Csection and now I just put all DS clean washing on it and change him on the floor

I have a lot to think about! I have checked the Boori site and they have a nice one that's only 800mm high. Might even do the trip to Sydney to Ikea.
