Maxi Cosi - how old was your LO when you removed the infant insert?

We've got the Maxi Cosi in black and grey and the head support is very hot as its so snug around DD2's head now. I'm thinking about removing it as DD often has a big melt down in the car and ends up so hot and sweaty around her head (despite being at the right position for the straps). I'm wondering if the insert is partially to blame for her meltdowns actually. DD2 is only 4 months old though so I'm a bit worried I'd be removing it too early. The instructions are no help, it just says to remove it when your child outgrows it.

So at what age did you remove yours? How snug is too snug? (lol!)

When I got my seat fitted the guy doing it said it was a waste as padding just makes it more easy for them to slip out or something and does nothing for the safety (only talking about the added insert)

Ah, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear! Be gone with you stinky, hot and sweaty insert and here's to drama free car trips (hopefully!)

    Cheers girls!

We took Buster's out ages ago, it's been at least a month now. He looked very jammed in and would scream and cry. Once we took it out he was much happier!

Well I'll let you know how she goes, I've just taken the insert out. Ironically, she's been brilliant in the car today
