i completely agree with jodi!! that and the maxi rider doesnt recline as much, she'll be far too small!!

what is DD1 in now? can DD2 use that seat? is it a convertable?

yeah DD1 is in a safe n sound royale i think, its over 3 years old and the belt is getting hard to pull to tighten, and it is beginning to fray a small bit on the bit that you pull to tighten so i am thinking i will just get rid of it and get them both new ones. DD2 is in a hired safe n sound capsule atm. thanks for your advise.. i was kinda thinking that would be the case. though it does say you can use it from 8kg so just wanted to hear others opinions.

'technically', yes you can use it from 8kg, but like I was saying before, it just doesn't look right. I have put Emily in it just for a test (didn't drive anywhere though) and she's a solid baby and she looks like a newborn in it But it is a fantastic seat for toddlers.

it frayed really bad at about 1 year old and RACQ got it fixed for us under the warranty. so i dont know why it keeps fraying. maybe its the way we are pulling at it or something. i got the retractor on the meridian so hopefully that one wont have that problem.

Ive got Vy in her Hipod booster and she looks tiny in it and she's almost 3 so would have to see an 8kg baby in one.

We have the Meridian AHR which DS, 23 months is still in. However, we are about to get him the Maxi Rider and bub will get his Meridian. Everyone is different but we looked at the Maxi Rider for DS at about 15 months and decided he still seemed too little.

You can get the belt replaced I'm sure! Prob is what to do far a seat in the meantime I'd think...
