    Music for bubs

I've read a bit and heard a lot about music being a great influence on bubs emotions etc. Can anyone recommend any specific artists that you and your baby enjoy. I've got a soothing nursery rhymes CD that I was given at my baby shower but looking for some more mainstream artists also.

we have a few different baby cds. None helped get DS to sleep but were pretty to listen too

    Acoustic lullabys
Sounds of silence (different white noises)
Dream something sorry cant remember name

DS listens to what ever i have on radio or CD or TV otherwise during day.

personally i wouldnt bother with any of the cd's specifically for baby

we listen to mozart, vivaldi, cafe del mar etc.... usually put it on when she is going down for a nap, otherwise we listen to lots of audio lectures and books etc....

i hope she has a great vocabulary from all her listening lol

Lol well i attended the Disturbed concert while pregnant and listen to Korn, Slipknot, Prodigy while driving and Jade doesnt mind at all...i really think when they are young they are indifferent, plus she'd be used to what she heard in the womb

My favorite CD for DS is called Music for Dreaming, recorded specifically for babies by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. According to the CD cover, it has been shown in clinical trials to soothe irritable bubs and they use it in maternity hospitals. They have also composed one for mothers too - it is just so calming that I am taking it to the birth centre with me for my 2nd labour!! I think you can buy them together as a set.
This CD has its own website if your interested in checking it out.

Haha I think it's pretty cool to be able to look back and tell them that they're first concert was when I was x weeks pregnant. I've seen a few bands too over the last 8months.

I'll have to look up the CD's your mentioning - thanks ladies
