    Nappy Bag for 2

When Little Miss arrives, I will have a NB and a 17month toddler, and I am thinking of getting a 'nappy bag'. At the moment with DS, I tend to pack a couple into his little backpack (or my handbag) and then have another bag in the car with enough for how long we will be out, and a few extras just in case

Nothing I have looked at seems big enough to carry enough nappies (I use BBH and flats). It is hard to look at bags online and know if they will be big enough (and there aren't many options for looking at stuff around here)

Do thy wise women of BB have suggestions on a good bag that is big enough to accommodate for 2 little ones in cloth? I'm not too worried about $$, within reason

    Thanks

My mimco one is big enough for both by bubbas in cloth but I don't use it much as it's massive! I take the bbh petites apart and pack them in 2 pieces and it saves a heap of space.

I have a pretty big nappy bag (new for DS2's arrival) from Big W. But even then it is not big enough for the cloth nappies for 2 as well. So I have a separate large wet dry zippered bag (with two pouches). One pouch has wipes, change mat, cream and clean nappies. The other pouch of the the wet nappies. This gets tossed on top of the nappy bag precariously to be carried to the car and then goes in the bottom of the stroller.

    Hope that makes sense.

Dh does the same thing as Bloom. He carries a wet ag with nappies seperately and chucks it in the bottom of the pram.

I have made a few bags in the past but never thought of making a nappy bag. So tell me about your ideal nappy bag.

    How big should it be?
    How many pockets?
Should it have a shoulder strap or a hand strap?
What extras would you like in your bag?

If I can come up with a design I will make it and offer it to you girls at a very good price.

My ideal nappy bag would be:
    - light weight (some bags weigh a fair bit without stuff in them!)
    - A single wide shoulder strap (suitable to go over the pram handles or across my body). Ideally adjustable in length
    - 2 outside pockets, 2 inside pockets, and a large zippered pocket on the outside for adult things to be easily accessible like keys and mobile and wallet.
    - have a sturdy base
    - be quite large, maybe 50cm long by 20-25cm wide and 35cm tall.

Custom made nappy bags would be a great business for someone!

I think a great concept for a nappy bag would bs expandable zips like suitcases and for cloth users, an inbuilt wetbag.

DD is no longer in nappies but I always need to take along a snack, toy to entertain her, my carrier, jumpers for us all etc. so I wanted a decent sized bag when no. 2 came along. I was finding that trying to hold a baby and a toddler's hand, plus a bag and potentially shopping etc. almost impossible. And if you have a bag over your shoulder then when you reach down to hold your toddler's hand, it slips down and whacks them! Mybe that's just because I'm 6ft tall but it was driving my nuts. Ended up getting a biggish backpack from Kathmandu. (I'm sure other outdoorsy shops have similar too). It has heaps of different pockets and compartments so I can separate stuff, adjustable straps to I can lengthen them and hook it over the pram, and I've got my hands totally free to juggle little people. Wouldn't go back to a shoulder bag.

I had a look on their website but couldn't find the berry coloured one... is it the same as the black/red/nude one?

I showed DH the Vanchi website and he said he would buy me the one I liked but I can't find anywhere to look at it in person Maybe I'll just keep using my handbag and current system. It'd be nice though to be able to put the bag over the handle instead of taking up the basket space... oh well

Thanks for the suggestions though ladies, and thank you Alan for dropping in too!! I will have a think about my ideal nappy bag and get back to you
