my recommendation is the maclaren
ive got a vogue and its awesome
Hi ladies (and gents!),
I have a Baby Jogger Elite for normal use but I really want a stroller for my DS which is
1) lightweight
2) easy to fold
3) fairly compact
4) comfy
5) not too pricey
and I need your suggestions/experiences!
I would love to get one when the warmer months arrive later as sometimes the big pram is just so bulky. We're also off for a warm holiday soon and I'd love to take a small stroller and leave my bulky pram behind!
TIA
my recommendation is the maclaren

I recommend the quinny zapp. AWESOME stroller, bit pricey though, about the $300 mark. But worth every cent.
We bought our zapp when going on holiday to bali as we only had hand luggage and this stroller folds up and fits into its bag and is compact enough to go in the overhead compartments. Aside from that, steering is awesome on it, and it seems to be really comfortable. My dd loves it so much she chucks a tanty if any of my other kids even look sideways at it as it 'her pram" lol.
Its lightweight too at only 6kg.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my steelcraft stroller... Only $99 from pramwarehouse and so light & easy to use..

Thanks so much ladies. Will be going out today to have a lookie at the ones you've mentioned. I especially like the look of the quinny zapp, it's sooooo compact and great for travelling.
Any more out there ladies?????
I have a Quicksmart which is fantastic and has travelled in overhead locker to Thailand, Perth and various other places.
Mclaren vouge here it is awesome so easy to use and fold
Thanks so much ladiesWell I was going to have a look at the strollers yesterday but my DF couldn't be bothered, so we're going out today but the weather is so horrible I don't know if we'll make it out! Winter is already here
I really need to have a look at those strollers as I have a shop I normally go to cos the guy always gives me fantastic prices, but he already said he'd have to order the quinny in and I need it by Saturday!! Better get my bum into gear

Ok, so I went out today in that wretched weather and had a lookie a the quinny and the maclaren. I looooved the quinny but didn't like the fact that it doesn't recline at allI also loved the maclaren vogue, this one is great cos it does recline and has an awesome hood on it! My BJ has a massive hood which we use all the time in summer and winter. So I think we'll be getting the maclaren but I'm not liking the price. The cheapest I found is $349

unfortunatly Miss B maclarens arent cheap i got mine for $340
but its the best money ive spent so far on prams
(try ebay but i did notice with the Vogue it was almost cheaper to buy new)
I have the Silver Cross "Pop" (very similar to the Maclaren) but about $60 cheaper (well mine was as i bought it from the guy who sold me all the stuff for our nursery when we had dd1!) - I LOVE it![]()
I have a SilverCross Pop too. It fully reclines. I got mine off eBay, demo model, for just under $200.
Oh bugger, i didnt realise you needed it to recline.
Not sure if you want to know this but you can get the quinny zapp xtra that reclines and has a huge hood on it, its just new out though and im not 100% sure on price but i think its well over $300 (like closer to $500-big ouch). Have a google and check it out. I know its going to be a fair bit more than you wanted to spend but i felt i should let you know that its available![]()
MummyofTerrors, I shopped around on the net and the ebay, and ebay is around the $360 markSo then I found a place near by in Glenhuntly that has them for $349 so I will see the guy today that I normally buy all my baby stuff from and see if he can come down on the price to around $320. So far he's quoted me $369.
Negrita & Stoked, the silver cross is very similar to the maclaren isn't it? The maclaren had this amazing expandable hood which I love (I am obsessed with big hoods if you haven't noticed already, lol). Not much price difference in the shops but ebay is not really an option now as I need the pram by SaturdayI've left it far too late I think even though I have been thinking about getting a stroller for months
Kristi, I wish you didn't tell me about the new quinny!!! lol. Sorry I should have mentioned earlier I needed a recline option. I looked up the new one and it looks awesome, but, finding it will be an issue as I don't know who sells them and more importantly, the price is a bit much.....bugger! I've already got a great pram that will see DS through til he's 3 or 4 but I need a light one to travel with and for summer time when it's hot and I don't want to be pushing my heavy pram around. The BJ already is pretty dear so I don't want to spend a fortune on a stoller too. My DF is already screwing up his face at the $300 mark!! haha. I told him the stroller won't be more than $200-$250, lol.
Thanks so much ladies for all your help, you have been awesome!!
B xoxox
Miss B- i know the glenhuntly store you talking about i used their price to get $340 from my local store xoxo
its shocking ebay ctually wants alot more then what stores are selling them for
the ebay price has actually dropped too
I just got two second hand Maclarens on eBay.
A Triumph for $80, and a Techno XT for $130. You can get eBay to email you about specific search details.
I am also searching for a stroller too.... after buying a 3 wheeler (which was great when I needed the bassinet) and then another one off gumtree (which is just horrid to steer since a plane trip) and then another off deals direct (which I sold on gumtree because it wasn't what I wanted) and being given a cheapy kmart stroller.......
WORD OF ADVICE: can I just say, buy the Mclaren if that's what you want - it works out waaaaaay cheaper to buy one good one that you will use rather than the four prams/strollers that I've bought/been given and now looking for a 5th!!
Could be I'm just a pram junkie!!!![]()
