We have had Madeleine in our room since birth. She was in a bassinette and then co-slept with us until a week ago. Now she is in her cot next to our bed (side removed, pushed against our mattress, brakes on).

Madeleine has slept through from 8 weeks old.

We tried her in her own room for a week or so but she woke up several times a night.

If we all sleep through, it works so well with us, we're not tired then and such a happier family!

Ds was in his cradle in my room, and then a cot in my room until he was about 10 months old. Transition wasn't a probalem for him
This time round we are using a pram with a bassinette attatchment and bubs will sleep in there in our room at night until he grows out of it. He willsleep in the pram but in his room during the day so I hope transition won't take too long.
Our bedroom isn't big enough for a cot so either way he's in his room (which is only on the other side of the bathroom from us) when he outgrows the bassinette. We have a monitor (the same one form Ds12 can't believe it still works!) too which will make me (and DBF) feel better.
