Polyester/Cotton blend all in one suits???

    Hello,

This will be my first winter baby and I was wondering if the polyester/cotton blend type of suits are ok for baby. I have always avoided this type of clothing because I don't think it breaths. My mum has just send me a box full of these suits and I am not sure if I want to use them.

    Thanks

hmmm.... i am not into polyester for newborns (or even toddlers really) - but maybe it is my perception???
I have been buying cotton and figure I will do layers...
but i am also starting to think about how COLD it will be when our gorgeous bubbas arrive..
will watch this thread with keen interest...

I have the Bonds wondersuits and they are polyester / Nylon.

I don't think there would be much difference between them. Im sure they will keep baby warm (especially during winter). If you are concerned then maybe do some research on the internet while you have time.

All the best with the rest of your pregnancy.

Yes, wondersuits and others like them have poly mix, and although i like to keep my baby in natural fibres i use wondersuits as they are really practical and warm and comfy for bubs. I think they still breath because of the way the fabric is .

DS always slept in wondersuits as a newborn. They're great because they have feet too! Maybe just keep in mind what fabric you wrap bub in (if you do wrap) - cotton is probably best.

    Good luck

These are not wonder suits they are those thick fluffy type of suits.

Pregagainpan - I have never used these either with even on my older babies

Bek - I'm not a fan of those either. I much prefer the Bonds suits.

I think I'd be asking your mum for the receipt and explaining to her while you truly appreciate the gesture, you are concerned that the fabric won't breathe and a little baby might overheat in them??

Having said that, I have put them on my kids in winter overnight, but they only had one or two each and were 6m+ when they wore them.

oooohhh - yeah, I would not use those on a newborn either. It might cost a bit more, but you can get soft wool singlets etc and layer up your little one if you live in a very cold house.
