DS always slept in wondersuits as a newborn. They're great because they have feet too! Maybe just keep in mind what fabric you wrap bub in (if you do wrap) - cotton is probably best.
Good luck![]()

These are not wonder suits they are those thick fluffy type of suits.
Pregagainpan - I have never used these either with even on my older babies
Bek - I'm not a fan of those either. I much prefer the Bonds suits.
I think I'd be asking your mum for the receipt and explaining to her while you truly appreciate the gesture, you are concerned that the fabric won't breathe and a little baby might overheat in them??
Having said that, I have put them on my kids in winter overnight, but they only had one or two each and were 6m+ when they wore them.
Willow - I have a "thing" (lol) about these suits. Some how they look sufficating for a newborn.
I know what you mean Bekz about them looking suffocating.
I don't know that there would be a need to use them in QLD. I did use the big fluffy poly suits when i took DD to Adelaide, when she was about 4mths old it was July & quite cold there, but I can't recall using htem up here at all. With my DS2 (June baby) I used the Bonds suits & layered as needed.
I spotted some in BigW today on special... I am also put off by the fact that some of the cheaper ones feel nasty, kwim? For me I will be sticking to Bonds & layering![]()
yea i use bonds wondersuits - but i HATE those suits you are describing (my MIL also bought afew for DS last time which i never used). I agree they look suffocating and 'nasty'. i would prefer layering - even living in FREEZING Canberra...
Ditto, ditto ditto! In winter bub wears a cotton singlet with the bonds wondersuits, (which I believe are at least partially cotton based?). Then bubs just has an organic cotton double-lined sleeping bag to cover him. I have found a sleeping bag to be the most important factor - as any rugs you put on them come off soon after as they wiggle around so much!!
If you google companies like natures child, eco child, ecobabe etc you will find plenty of 100% natural sleeping bags and sleeping suits made of pure, breathable materials such as cotton, hemp and wool.
A couple of people bought us those thick poly suits for bub and apart from not allowing bubs skin to breathe, they don't allow enough room for the feet! The bonds wondersuits are by far the best fit and have plenty of room for growing feet!

great idea jellybean re the sleeping bags... i was so bad at wrapping ds and was just thinking how i will do this with this bub given it is winter
I am a sleeping bag user from way back..lol Thankfully I have one already for bub. Thanks everyone for your replies. I think I'll get the receipt from my mum and see if can exchange these for wonder suits (of which I have used with my other girls.) She has bought me 6 of these outfitsso she spent a bit of dosh on them
