Both my girls walked pretty early and so were very capable of being out of the pram by 2.5. I had a double pram from DD2's birth though and TBH kept them in it a lot of the time because it was easier knowing they were both safe, and knowing where they were!

DD1 went into a big girl bed with a rail when she was just under 2. DD2 hated being left behind and so she was in a big girl bed with rails at 15 months.
