Question about Grobags and swaddling....

It depends on the size of the baby whether she would fit ino the grobag, i think they say 8.1kg for the 6-18month size. DS is almost 5 months old and fits into this size but he is a huge baby. I got a sleeping bag from pumpkin patch which was about 30ish dollars that ds is sleeping in at the moment and we will get a grobag soon. I have seen them in target and also myer aswell so you can get cheaper versions.

We are currently putting ds in the sleeping bag then wrapping him over the top of it to keep his hands under control which is working really well for us as he is toasty warm and still wrapped. For a few nights i stopped using the sleeping bag but he was waking up several times in the night coz he was cold but last night i put him in the sleeping bag again and he slept 7-7 for the first time. Not sure if it had anything to do with it but i think he was getting cold and that is why he was waking so much.

Im going to have to wean ds off the wrap soon but to be honest im scared to do it as a few times when he has got his arms out he has woken himself up even though i dont think he has the startle reflex anymore.

DH and I found a grobag type thing at Pumpkin Patch for DD on the weekend at sale price too! We are trying her out in it tonight. We unwrapped her for her sleeps yesterday and she slept fine! But at night last night we half wrapped her. So she was swaddled under her armpits down but arms out. And she stayed in it! I think she just loves having her arms up near her head. (like she did in the 3D scan we had done!)

I think we'll half wrap her for the next couple of weeks and then wean her off the wrap completely and just stick to grobags/sleeping bags.

The PP ones are good becase they tend to not be fleece bags.
The other option if you know someone handy with a snap press, is to get some extra snaps put on each arm hole and neck hole (obviously theres only one lol) to reduce the size of them, the issue is baby falling in to the bag if they are too big, more so than the length.

Theres also a brand called dreambag which are about half the price of grobag and quite good also.
