    angelcare baby monitor

i've just been reading previous posts of the angelcare 2 in 1 sound and movement monitor and it sounds like theres lots of bb members who use these ones. DS has just moved in the next room in his cot so i'm looking around today for a monitor.
DS is only 3 and a bit months at the moment so doesn't wriggle much, but how much of the mattress will it cover without beeping and scaring the hell out of me when he does become a wiggle worm at night..?

also i'm just looking at the first model AC201, without the temp thing for like $200, is this still as good as the newer models. they have a fisher price one on sale from $99 to $65, so i'm totally undecided.

It has 2 pads, so covers a fair bit of the cot. We used it for Emily until she turned 1, then she moved around too much so I got a different one.

Let me know if you're interested in a second hand one, mine is for sale

I used the one pad version right up till jack moved out of cot at 27mths I found it to be great we had maybe 2 false alarms from just having one pad, I loved it it went everywhere with us so from bassinet to cot to port-acot

We have the newer one with the room temp, it has two pads so covers quiet a bit of the cot. we have used it since ds was born, in the bassinet and from 4 months in the cot. have only had a couple of false alarms. I can highly recommend it, its definatley worth every penny. I think we may even get another one when number 2 arrives because i still want to use it in ds's cot too. I love it!

We have the one pad version - and have no problems at all. The only times it's gone off are when DS is laying longways at either end of the mattress (leaning against the head/foot of the cot).. other than that - it's been great. You can adjust the sensitivity (if you have ceiling fans or a room fan for summer - you'll need to test it as it can pick that air movement up as breathing!).

They're great. Nothing more to say, I reckon!

thank you for your replys. we've decided on this monitor since we've heard nothing but good reviews, and since this is only first bub will get a good one that'll last the next bub too.
thank you for the offer jodi, i would've bought a second hand one but i got a great sale price on the newer model for the same price as the other one we we're looking at, so i've put that on layby.
    cheers
