Which sling do you prefer?

I'm looking to buy a sling for my almost 4 weeks old and have just seen that at a close(ish) baby shop they have Peanut Shell, Bubba Moe, BabaSling and Baby Rock's Comfy Carry Baby Sling. I would like to try one out really to see if I like the feel and everything of carrying her around on me, check that it doesnt have too much impact on my body from the extra weight. I don't know if I'll end up buying one there or on ebay (I'm not very good at using ebay). If any of you know any that are brilliant or rubbish can you please let me know. Also if you see any that are an absolute steal (and good) that would be nice too.

I say either wrap (I have a leo storch and an indy) or Mei Tai
I haven't gone the one shouldered slings. I honestly think that carrying a heavy bub that they can't be good on your back or shoulder having all that weight on one side, your better off with something that evenly distributes the weight IMO.

Ergos are great - pricey though.

I have a bubba moe - and found that in the front carry- my newborn HATED it because she hated to lie down (reflux) and she is a long baby so was kinda squished in there.

And it pulled on my shoulder and she wasn't particularly heavy either.

It was brilliant for carrying around my toddler on my back though - not so much on hip (would pull on my shoulder terribly)

I haven't used a peanut shell but they look good.

Personally I love the BubbaMoe and so does the little guy. I guess it's horses for courses though, because Mr. J is 4 weeks old, 56cm (reasonably big I'm told) and has reflux. I think little guy loves the squish.

I've put him in an Eden Meitai (sp?) once and he screamed his head off. I'll try again, but maybe once he has more head control. One thing about the BubbaMoe is that it can be lifted off and on very easily. I swapped him from me to DP without waking him. Also, when he wakes and starts to grizzle, we just lift it off and lay it down on a flat surface and he's quiet for the next 5 minutes while he adjusts to stretching out. Perfect for that quick window to prepare for a feed.

Ive got a nurture sling (one shouldered) a bubba rocks (a wrap-style) and a baby bjorn - the nurturesling is sooooo great - much easier on my back than the baby bjorn, and my bub loves it I got it on ebay, but they also have their own website. It was only about $25 brand new, on sale! Bargain!
I havent used the wrap much yet, but its great so far

I have tried a bubzilla sling and a karma baby sling - is it me or do others have trouble getting the hang of using them?
Anyway, the Karma baby seems really good, but just need to practice with it. The Bubzilla was not so good, both me and DH had one each and they seemed too deep.
I brought a mei tai online and its been brilliant!!!!
I got a babyhawk, and its been soooo good and its so comfy.
Bubs wants to be upright so works for him, perhaps thats why we cant get the pouch slings working yet? Does Larrisa like to be settled upright or lying across your arms?

We have an ergo too, which is well designed, but with the infant insert its too hot and bulky. Will be great for when he is bigger though.

baba ling was good when DS was young for short use only as he got grumpy in it and I got sore.

If you are looking at a one shouldered sling I would go for one that has a really wide piece of fabric over the shoulder, like the peanut shell. I have a hotsling (similar design) and used it until my son was almost 2. Before that we used a ring sling that was narrow over the shoulder and I found it uncomfortable even with a small bub.
