Straps in a stroller for newborn and toddler?

So I have a Maclaren Vogue, love it - a two year old and a two week old. Now my plan was to just stick with this stroller and carry DS, but also have a buggy board for DD so could sometimes put DS in stroller and DD would walk or be on buggy board. However have realised a problem how do I deal with the straps? Is too much effort to have to move holes each time - is there some neat invention or idea so can strap in either a newborn or a toddler safely without having to change strap positions?

I have a Techno and I don't think we ever moved the straps - they just got tightened for the baby? Could you leave it on the biggest one and just do that?? We started using the stroller with J when he was around 5 mths old though so might make a difference, if yours lays right back flat, could you use a cocoon while he is little to pop him in and out?

I never adjust the straps on my prams, because I can never be sure which kid is going to be in it. I use one of those head support thingy's for the newborn at the time and pad in the extra space between straps with bunny rugs. Being newborn, they don't actually move very much anyway and sometime I won't even bother to do u the straps (although I do if we are going on bumpy terrain).

Yeah, I never even strapped my newborns in, lol. Too much drama coz if I put them in asleep it would wake them up. I was just walking around the shops, not doing any crazy manouvres lol.

Thanks for the replies, I have a Phil & Ted's cocoon which I am using in the Vogue at the moment which seems to work quite well - I just thought of using it the other day (great minds think alike - Tanstar :-))- the length is just right when Vogue is laid flat and I wrap handles round the frame to secure it.

I am a bit clumsy and forgetful so I would worry about tipping a newborn out if no straps.

I will just leave the straps on the biggest setting then and if strap in use rugs to pad if needed.

I suppose I just thought there might have been some nifty invention out there, but then again stroller/pram makers probably want you to buy a double and not just re-use what you have!
