Yeah, I never even strapped my newborns in, lol. Too much drama coz if I put them in asleep it would wake them up. I was just walking around the shops, not doing any crazy manouvres lol.
Thanks for the replies, I have a Phil & Ted's cocoon which I am using in the Vogue at the moment which seems to work quite well - I just thought of using it the other day (great minds think alike - Tanstar :-))- the length is just right when Vogue is laid flat and I wrap handles round the frame to secure it.
I am a bit clumsy and forgetful so I would worry about tipping a newborn out if no straps.
I will just leave the straps on the biggest setting then and if strap in use rugs to pad if needed.
I suppose I just thought there might have been some nifty invention out there, but then again stroller/pram makers probably want you to buy a double and not just re-use what you have!
