Question Strider plus 3 or city select

so ive been given the all clear to buy a new double pram providing i sell my P&T Dash for a good price
so i now need to decide between the strider plus or the city select

i love the city select its my first choice! but reading the reviews the strider plus did better??
which would you choose and why
my youngest is 7weeks and my oldest is 3 but still only 13kgs
but it will be my newborn and toddler 11kg that will be using it
i own a SnS capsule that would be great to use on it
or the bassinette would be fantastic (if itts easy)

the city select didnt do great with reviews with attachments but everyone loved the quick fold up
    and very bumpy???
strider was my newborn would still face away unless in the capsule

    please please help

I have a strider plus 3. I LOVE mine. All mine kids go in it. You can have your newborn facing you in the strider, you just take the seat off and click it in around the other way. I normally have DD2 in the top facing me and DD1 or DS in the bottom. I do lots of walking and it is the best pram I've tried. It was soo worth the money. Good luck deciding.

I have a strider plus 4. Same but with 4 wheels and it's fantastic. I love that the toddler seat is the same as the seat that comes with the pram, it's not a little booster that attaches to the front of the pram. Bassinet attachment is great but my dd hated it. We used the capsule all the time for quick trips. Was great for getting her into the car and into the pram when it was wet, saved me from having to stand in the rain fiddling around. The strider has a nice big basket underneath. I've never had any trouble with checkouts. It's so easy to put up and down with a pull and a click. I love that dd can face me from birth. It's really easy to manouver, I can spin it with one hand. Love it!!!

Is there any way you could put them side by side to compare? This is what I did when I was trying to decide on a new double pram. In the end I went with the BJ. Although it's a bit longer it still steers easily, while the Steelcraft looked just that much too wide & bulky for me. Plus my hubby is tall and kept kicking the 2nd seat on the Steelcraft

I checked them both out and got the City Select. The strider wouldn't fit in my car and was so heavy to lift. I ♥ my city select, it's awesome and so easy to use.

The big things I'd look at are the measurements in particular the width (wheel base) and weight as a double pram.

The Strider is 17kg as a double while the Select is 15kg. I personally found the Select by far easier to push - with one hand if necessary.

The Strider is 70cm wide at the wheels while the Select is 65cm. Five cm makes a big difference in shopping aisles

The quick fold on Baby Jogger prams in unbelievable! I have the Elite and can't fault it, it's an amazing pram. I just want to be able to use a capsule and toddler seat on my pram when #2 arrives so that's why I'm going to get the Select. I can't have my toddler and capsule in the Elite together or I'd keep it for sure.

I also love with the Select that neither child misses out on the view, lol I was so close to getting a P&T but really don't like that the child underneath just stares straight into the back of the main seat OR can't see a thing from the main seat as the toddler is right in front of them yet again, lol! I may be wrong but isn't that the same with the Strider seats?

The Select is an all-terrain pram (not as good as a classic 3 wheeler but the wheels are designed for bumpy roads) so I can't imagine the ride would be bumpy.

With regards to reviews, the Select is still relatively new to the market and a lot of changes were made to improve the pram in the new 2011 model so there won't be as many reviews as there would be for something like the Strider.

Hope some of that helps, they are just a few things that I looked into with prams and comparing against the Select.

Oh yeah forgot to say.... No idea where they got the 'bumpy' thing from, it is soooooooooo smooth!! Way easier to manouvre than the strider too IMO.

Plus my hubby is tall and kept kicking the 2nd seat on the Steelcraft
thanks for that as my DH is quite tall and didnt like whacking his knees against the P&T

Taurean its funny you mention the P&T toddler seat as my older 2 always fought over who got bottom seat lol

so i went out and bought the city select
what won me was being able to have a bassinette and toddler seat (always wanted a bassinette)
plus the toddler seat hitting poor DH (i tired the strider in store and it hit my legs when it was fully upright)
now i just gotta channel all my brain power to put it together lol

That's a great deal! I'm looking at $1300 in Perth for the same setup! I really want the amethyst (purple) one though which apparently won't be in Australian stores until December so that's too late for me, lol!

if you find a baby store that price match (most do) look online for the best price
    thats what i usually do
i didnt with the city select as it was out of my price range so i researched strider 3, but i told the girls that and they ended up doing me an awesome deal, i cant find it in aus
sucks the purple one isnt out until decemeber (if Hudson was a girl and they made pink)
it was fantrastic using it tonight only issue will be until i get my new car is finding the right tetris move in my boot lol (its a big ford boot but my maclaren and cocoon is in there too)

Hmmm, I don't think any would match prices from the States and as no-one will have the amethyst one until December, I've got no Aussie price to give other stores IYKWIM. Trust me to want the only colour I can't get in the stores here!! It is awesome though, dark purple Love it!

you sound so set on the purple one (id take the risk and order a USA version, one for price and two for colour)
see im so boring i LOVE black prams lol (the red one stood out and looked awesome but im not a fan of red and the diamond colour was awesome but too risky i have trouble keeping black clean)

(youll have to show me a photo showing it off when it arrives) a BB friend got hers from the states in purple too (it was super cheap for her as she was already going over there for a holiday but i think she got the mini or elite)
