    Stroller suggestions

    Hi

Just looking for suggestions before i start my search, dh and i have been discussing getting a stroller for ds. We currently have a strider 3 which we love but ds is getting quite big in it and athough it is ok for length is starting to get a bit tight around the shoulders. It also takes up most of the boot of the car so if we go to the supermarket with ds in the pram one of us has to walk home with him as we cant fit all the shopping in the car and the pram. We also need to go on a road trip in December and need a bit of extra boot space and figure its cheaper to buy a new pram then rent a car.

We dont want to spend alot of money, it needs to be able to recline as ds sleeps in the pram and obviously need to be lightweight. DH is worried about wheels on traditional stollers too, he thinks they are too small so it needs to be easy to manouver etc.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I brought a Valco Titan for DS2 and it's been awesome. It is umbrella fold so you save loads of space in the boot plus the wheels are quite good - I do a lot of walking over 'rough terrain' LOL and not had a problem with it. The handles on the valco are a bit taller than some others so it's great for DH's or taller people. It reclines as well - not fully flat but enough and also has other recline positions too if you need it. The under carriage basket is quite good - can fit a fair bit in there, but when fully reclined it makes it hard to get stuff out, but if they are asleep you don't need anything from under it anyway kwim? Plus nearly all smaller strollers are like that with the under carriage storage anyway.

ETA - I paid $140 for mine as it was the 'older' model apparently and they were going up to $160

I paid about as much as Trillian for mine. It's a Bebecare stroller. We couldn't afford the Maclaren which I really really wanted so we put them side by side and compared them. Size wise they are the same, the wheels are the same, design's the same, accessories were the same, just the finishing looks cheaper, but that's ok with us.
I can manage the stroller a Coles basket and a hyper head 3 year old, so it can't be that hard to manouvere. Plus I take it to our local markets etc at the showground and it's fine.

Thanks for the advice ladies. I would love a maclaren but cant seem to convince dh to spend the money. Hopefully he will see it and fall in love with it.

We weren't really going to buy a stroller so i dont really know what to look for. What tips can you give me when looking for an appropriate stroller? I had a look at some and looks like the majority are priced around $100 to $200. Also some over $200. There are cheaper ones but they dont look so good. I want it to be sturdy and durable as i want it to last more than one child. In your opinion do you get what you pay for with strollers.
