We have the Angelcare baby monitor and I reckon it's worth every penny.

I can sleep easy knowing it will sound if he stops breathing. It's gone off a couple of times when he's been at the very ends of the cot so the monitor can't pick up his breathing - which is reassuring as we know it works! However, we've had to test it to ensure the ceiling fan doesn't 'trick' it. So keep that in mind if you use a fan in bubs room...

Can't help you with the rest except to say we bought our high chair from IKEA for about $35 and it's fantastic. We can even pack it up and take it with us if we need to!

Good luck! It's a minefield out there

We got their catalogue in the letterbox the other day- thought I might at least go and check out, because I think you are able to put stuff on layby as well?

Sorry to invade your thread..but I have a question...I noticed you can save a fair bit on their baby clothes, but *sorry this is probably a really dumb question* what size would you need to buy for a newborn?? Or should I get a few in each size?

Sizes are tricky. But don't buy too much 'fancy' stuff, you'll likely get tonnes of those as gifts after the baby is born. Just go for lots of the basics - all in ones and stuff.

I received this catalogue in the letterbox last night and was planning to go and get some of the jumpsuits.

I was also planning on getting the Angelcare babymonitor as I have seen it at baby stores for $199. Does anyone know if this comes with 1 sensor pad or 2?

I was also considering putting the Sesame Street rocker on layby - Does anyone have an opinion on rockers? Good /Bad /Not worth it?

For everyone buying a highchair....look and see if it is easy to clean! We bought a nice one form Target (does not matter where it would have been bought though), the high-low combo one and I have hosed it so many times as it has sooooo many nooks and cranies and once solids are under way and finger food is on the menu...the easier they are to clean, the BETTER!

If I was buying a new one I would actaully go for the old fashioned ones iykwim!

Just throwing my opion out there to help save stress attacks for some of you. lol

i would get 000 for a newborn, but it may be a good idea to have some 0000's as well. my daughter was 9lb2oz and she wore her 0000's for about 2 weeks (mind you, some 0000 didnt fit at all, and some 000 were perfect right from the beginning!)

with dd also, i bought up to size 1 before she was born. it was really handy to have bigger sizes in her drawes, because before you know it, some things are too small, and its great to have the next size up already on hand! so it wouldnt hurt to grab 00's as well!

I didnt buy anything under 000 for DS, and wont for this bub.
I fugyre if they are on the smaller side, well they wont be cold, and I can make DH got out and get some 0000s, but if they're too big for what we've bought, then its sort of a waste.

I totally agree.... even with the fan bit! I now leave DS's blankets off & fan off unless he really needs the fan (I turn it off on my way to bed so the room is cooler by then)

I think its definately worth the money for the peace of mind, especially if you have a tummy sleeper like me!

    hey

    they all sound good.

for the pram i would go for the lightest and most compac to fold.

i bought my angel care monitor of ebay $50 used only for 3 months.

tho you didn't mention it the only product i think i bought for DS1 that was a complete waste of money was the fisher price baby bath with the hamock. its so crap, and they have hundreds on ebay selling for $5.

    good luck...

Wow, look at you, 12 weeks already!!

I can't help you with the pram/travel system because I haven't seen it, but make sure you are really happy with the pram because it's awful if you are not! I have a P&T's that I recently purchased and I LOVE it!

Nothing at all wrong with the Safe N Sound Guardian, it will do the job just fine (you can use them from newborn to up to 4 years of age) and it exceeds the Australian safety standards so you know it will be safe.

A lot of people swear by the Angelcare monitor, I sell them easily second hand so they seem to be very popular. $149 is a great price, you could sell it again on eBay for up to $100 once you've finished with it so you'd get most of your money back (that's if you're into selling on eBay LOL - keep the box and instructions if you are )

The Mothers Choice highchair is a good price, but I also recommend the Ikea Antilop highchair over a hi/lo highchair! It's so cheap, but by far the best highchair I have used. The hi/lo ones get food stuck in all the crevices of the seat cover which make them really hard to clean. But if you ARE after a hi/lo highchair, the Mothers Choice one looks like it would do the job

Hopefully that kind of helps? I live and breathe baby products thanks to my business and talk to mums everyday about them!

    Have fun
