Top of Stair Gates

Our new house has a very perilous staircase down to the garage which we will need to gate. One side is a wall and the other is a round post.... any suggestions as to a stair gate that would secure to a round post?

If they're your stairs not a landlords (or you're handy with spack filler and a paint brush) you could get one with a screw in thingy at the end and secure it with screws.
Or cut out 2 sections of the pole so that there are flat surfaces to attach it to.
