how much should i be expecting to pay second hand for these and what ones are good? what should i be looking out for? would a second hand baby store be cheaper than eBay or oztion?

idea? would like easy to fold, down side by side, i have a valco i think it is 3 wheeler with toddler seat but this doenst work for our lifestyle so need a side by side. This one i will be selling or swaping or getting rid of in some kinda way.

Here is what I would consider:

Dimensions - Look for one thats fits through a standard door
    What does it weigh
How small does it fold down and does it fit in your car
Is there any mould on the fabric
Does the pram come from a smoke and pet free environment
How long has it been stored for
    Why are they selling it
Are the wheels in good condition
Does the stroller fold down for a newborn if required

I would look for brands like maclaren and velco

I was looking at buying a steelcraft side by side at about $280 new, so I wouldn't spend more than $150 for a 'very good condition, clean' 2nd hand one. Even that would be a stretch, but if it was hardly used and looked after, I would consider it, but more realistically I would say no more than $100..

I have decided not to spend the money on a new one now as DD doesn't like being in the pram much, so I will just get a 2nd hand one. I just need one for the times that I am on my own with the 2 of them, and when I had DD, I didn't intend to have another one so soon, and I cannot get a toddler seat for my pram

It would be worth looking at 2nd hand shops as well, as you can see the condition for yourself. Online, you could be deceived with photos (I know I have with some things).

I think there are 2 2nd hand baby shops in Strathpine, but not sure of any closer to you.

We got a Valco Double Delight. It cost $250 from a baby shop. You can get them pretty cheap on ebay, around $100 to $150 in great condition. It fits through standard doorways, it folds pretty flat when put down, weighs 12 kg, seats adjusts to any position between upright and fully layback, has 2 storage baskets, large protective hood, Newborn to 18kgs each side. I've only pushed it around the house with Harrison in it so far. It seems good so far, I like it.

I got the stroller kind and used it from newborn as the seats layed flat. Fits through a standard door and only weighs about 8kg if that. It cost about $220 from a baby store but was worth it. Mine are now just over 3 and 14 months old and i'm still using it. Actually its the only way i can go out with both, because my toddler is a runner and my baby will climb out of anything that does not have an arm and shoulder harness.

I got a Valco double pram/stroller for friends from ebay for $5. Great condition, but i took the cover off and washed it all anyway and DH checked out the wheels and its close to new again.

The item was pick-up only and just out of Melbourne, and i think people didn't bid because they were reluctant to go for a drive to pick it up.

I'm also looking at twin prams as DD will still use ours quite a bit, DP and i are going to go to a place like baby bunting and look at some, see how well they fold, get them to check if they fit in our car etc and then look at e-bay.

I think i could do with a toddler seat but we can't buy one for ours and saying that Ava will still only be 15mths old and i'm sure taking naps at times when we are out so i am looking at a side by side aswell.
Am thinking a stroller rather than a jogger, love the idea of a tandum but had a look yesterday and the front seat doesn't recline enough and they are still quite bulky... will let you know how i go with my search.. feel free to give me any tips you find!

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this idea, but I just got of those prams where bubs sit one if front of the other. it's nuch better IMO than the side by sides, as it doesn't create space issues when in shopping centres or trying to get down shop isles.

I picked up one called a 'Lite Limo' for $26 on ebay, it was in great nick, and folds up to the size of my regular single four wheeler. Don't know what you think of that, but I'm loving it!!!

Ella - is that the babyco brand one also do you find that the front seat reclines enough for the older child to take a nap?
1 more question, is the shopping basket big enough to fit a couple of things in?

Sorry squidipa i am looking at the same stuff and there are some on e-bay, might check out babyco and have a play... lol

    hey girls,
yep it's the babyco one. It's great, it wouldn't weigh a gramme over what my single does! Its super easy to get in and out and if you get one in good nic they're perfect!

It will recline enough for your toddle to have a nap in, it reclines about halfway I think. DS is 10 months and has had a few naps in the front seat!

Yep there is also enough room for a couple of things at the shops, you wouldn't fit a weeks groceries in, but if you're just after a couple of things you would be fine.
