DS sleeps in an amby hammock for his nap and at the start of the night. He is 6 months old now, DD stopped sleeping in it around this age. Just wondering how long your LO slept in the hammock for? Was the trigger to change beds due to weight/length of the bub or development (moving etc)?
I think we put ours away at around 10 months. I thought she'd reached the weight limit on it, but a little while later realised I'd converted to pounds wrong. I brought it back out because she used to sleep so well in it, but now she won't Wish I'd never put it away in the first place!
DD1 about 8 months because she was tossing and turning and seemed to be unable to get comfortable all of a sudden. I think she wanted to sleep on her tummy and did that straight away in the cot so the transition was easy.
DD2 about the same but for safety because she was trying to sit up and stand up in it. In fact I left it a bit too long in the hope I could keep her in it and she fell out after trying trying to stand up. Not such an easy transition, but then she wasn't sleeping all that well anyway.
My DS1 slept in his Amby until he was 23 months old! My niece is currently sleeping in her Amby at 13 months of age.
The standard spring that an Amby comes with can hold up to 12kg and then a second spring can be used alongside it which can hold up to 24kg. There are also heavy duty springs that can hold up to 20kg. The frame itself can hold up to 45kg so it can certainly be used for a long time .
Ta Trish. we only have the basic spring but he is only 8kg atm so still good for awhile.
DD became a tummy sleeper at about the time we moved her out of the hammock too. I think we moved her because she started moving more in it and i was a bit concerned she would get stuck. DS doesn't move so much, but he might reach the 2 ends soon.
