what cot do you have ?

i ordered my (now 11 wk old) babies cot back in february and it's still not here. they had problems with the paint and now when it's finally fixed the dropside is buggered and going to be another 6 weeks away. the cot is Bootiq brand and the babies shop have said they've never had a problem with this company before.
DS is currently sleeping in the pram bassinett but he'll be 3 months old in a cpl of weeks and i was hoping to have a cot by then.
i'm so angry with this whole situation but more so that i've never recieved an apology at all, and the baby shop has just kinda brushed it off and said we're welcome to wait for it or come choose another cot.
anyway just getting so fed up with waiting i'm going to buy another cot. i'll be looking around next week but was wondering in the meantime what cot do you have and would you recommend it....?
also does anyone have a cot by bootiq and are they any good...?

How frustrating for you! I hope they pick up their game soon.

We got our cot from the local markets for $50!! DP sanded it back and re-painted it and its shmick! We looked around for a while to find the right one as I wanted drop-side and 2 levels. I wanted to only have 'the best' when I was pregnant but I know now you definately dont have to pay heaps to have that.
I would definately write a letter to the shop once you have your cot and let them know how dissapointed you are in their service, will hopefully make you feel a bit better

We got DD's cot at Target and haven't had a problem with it. Plus we got it on a half price sale so we got a bargain on a great cot. It's still going strong and will be used for this bubba.

We've got the Boori Classic cot. We bought the whole Boori nursery set to match and love it. It's quality and looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see little Tarko in our beautiful nursery.

I hope you get something sorted hon. That is terrible service and I'd be well and truly peeved if I was you too!

Hey I am having the same problem with Bootiq! I posted a few days ago under the "what to do" thread.

I have my cot which is fine, but am still waiting on the change table. I ordered the package months ago... and was told this week that the change table now wont be here till Sept (thats not guarenteed either...by the way) Which means all up a five month wait on a damn change table.

I wasnt sure if it was the baby stores problem or Bootiq so I called Bootiq yesterday and they said they have no stock across the board pretty much sold out everywhere, and they are having problems getting stock into the country. They really didnt seem to care to much at all.

The baby store I am going through has been ok about it, and said they would order me something else.. but the whole idea was to have a matching package.. thats why I brought it! I cant return the cot as its assembled and I have already disposed all the packaging!!! Its so annoying!

I got the Mali Euro. Should have been $800 but got it for $200 from Grays Online.

Love it. Two levels and converts to a toddler bed.

Its interesting you say that about Bootiq.....my friend had her cot and change table on layby for about 6 months (both Bootiq) and when she finally paid it off she was told there would be a three week wait on the cot and atleast 2 month wait on the change table!!!! Man she was peeved! She ended up going with another brand thru the same store!!

I have a LoveNcare cot and change table (not sure of the model name sorry I think it classic??) and I love them! Underneath the cot is a blanket draw (or general storage draw lol) which I didnt really care about when I bought it...but its sooooo useful now lol. The only hassle so far with it would be it takes the larger mattress size...so I always have to check what dimensions blankets and sheets are before I buy them.

i rang the company also jng1977, and they told me it was supposed to be in soon but hasn't arrived and they kept saying this every month, it makes it very frustrating, they weren't too concerned about it either. and especially for you if you've wanted the matching set. that would be very annoying.
i know it's not the baby shops fault, they're only the stockists, but it's disappointing, plus they rang DH this week and asked us to come in and fix up our layby since we only paid the initial deposit, ha ha yeh right! we then explained they didn't even have the cot yet and they checked then said oh yeh, sorry.
thank-you for everyones responses, i'll do some research and look up these cots now.

Did you also order it in White? My impression from speaking with them and the baby store was that it was all of the Bootiq range in White that apparently was the problem, and that nothing was coming in before Sept.

If I could I would so return my cot and get a whole other brand, and pay that bit extra to get made in oz as well. That was my original plan... but I got sucked into the Bootiq one.

that's why i've decided on another brand of cot, i'm so sick of waiting and they've now said 6 more weeks but i'm not holding my breathe since they've been telling me "next month" since jan, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was sept or longer.
yeh i ordered it in white. they have the walnut colour available to buy. from what i understand it was originally the white paint that was changed to a better quality.
i've only ordered a cot and i'm angry i'd be fuming if it was the whole set i'd ordered and one piece didn't arrive. it might only be a change table but it's a set. if you can't push to swap the whole set, then i suppose you can take the risk and wait ( it could end up arriving soon) or just get a similar looking one.
in the meantime, my sil put a $20 change mat from big w on top of her washing mashine and changed her bub there and it worked well for her. you could do that on top of a table, bed or w m. it's a bit cheaper as a short time substitute.

Yeah I am going to see how it goes, I will wait till Sept and just use the change mat on the table. If it still isnt here in Sept I will get a refund on the change table and maybe get one that doesnt match, or hey I might even find I really dont need it anyway.

Its the customer service at Bootiq I think that has annoyed me the most.. I dont know what the person/people you have dealt with have been like... but the lady I had was just so unhelpful and really didnt care at all.

    Hello,
We have a boori ranch cot - which we love - although it is not in use yet it is all made up, and was easy to put together without instructions! The boori price tag can be a put off, but we got ours from ebay for 1/2 the price. Ours is timber so with just a wipe down and polish, any scratch marks were not visable.

Boori in white can be harder to get...

    Good luck

DS's grandfather made his cot. It's absolutely to die for, he's a master craftsman!

Has 3 levels, lowering sides and is big and solid - I love it. Has a removable change table for the top and when DS was old enough to stand up the top comes off and attaches to a stand to make a stand-alone change table.
