one of the best used items was the big lot of nappies we got. also we got house safety stuff. which we didnt use straightaway but now is very very handy!

wraps are good to get and clothes are always lots of fun

maybe you could ask ppl to pitch in to get a baby carrier etc etc

If you want to breastfeed then ask people to put together for an ABA membership, or maybe someone will be able to just buy it themselves for you. You do need the support that they give.

Otherwise I would say something practical like nappies or other things that you will use constantly.

I like you had almost everything before having my baby shower but things that I got from people that were great were:

- toys
- feeding things (for whent the baby will be on solids
- clothes in the next size or 2 up
- muslin wraps
- waffle blankets
- books
- baby bath products
- nappies
- gift vouchers (a nice way of asking for this is just to say "if you're struggling I love to shop or have a layby at .... for such and such a shop")
