18 months isn't long for that kind of damage! We've had our two years and it's as new.

I just wanted to say if you get the basinette, you won't be able to use the bottom seat as the basinette sticks out too far. Also, I think the reason for only going up to 15kgs in the bottom seat is to stop it tipping - a newborn won't have enough weight to hold the front down.

I wouldn't have any issues putting baby in the bottom though. I have a friend with twins who has this pram, and the babies swapped which seat they were in with no issues. As long as your DS faces forward so his feat are out of the way you should be fine.

Another option is if you're into baby wearing? DS goes in the pram and baby in the sling?

I'd be going to the manufacturer too - it does sound outside normal wear and tear.

it's worth trying with the manufacturer but I wouldn't get another pram. Another 6 months, your DS might not be so keen on riding in the pram. And if your baby wants to be worn (mine did especially when they were little), you have another 6 months where ds can go in the pram while you wear baby.

My dd is 3 and although I have a toddler seat on the pram, it is rare that both kids are in the pram. One is being worn and the other in the pram or DD is walking and ds is in pram or carrier or walking.

We have the strider plus and we actually put DS1 (17kg) in the bottom cause we find it travels better with the heavier child in the bottom.
