What's better than the Steelcraft Enigma Reverse Handle stroller?
I saw the Steelcraft Enigma Reverse Handle stroller and I loved how it looked, how soft and comfy the seat was, the narrow wheel base, the good sized basket, the multi back positions, the size it folds down to, the reverse handle and the price. It seemed perfect, but then I read a stack of reviews that all say the wheels are dodgy and the stroller only lasts 5 months and it's difficult to turn with the weight of a child in the seat.
I am so disappointed because it looked perfect and now I can't find a stroller that I like.
Can anyone recommend something that would be a better alternative but has similar features?
I can't recommend another pram but just wanted to let you know from my experience to stay away from the Steelcraft Enigma. I loved everything you loved about it and then I found it was really hard to steer with a bub in it. It really does come down to personal preference though. I would go back to the store and have a look at similar prams and maybe google reviews on the ones you like.
DH and I looked seriously at the Steelcraft Enigma (rev. handles) but were warned off it by the shop assistant when she found out we wanted a pram to take walking 4-5 times a week. She said the plastic around the wheels can heat up and loosen the "bits" where the wheels attach to the pram. However, she said if the pram was for use in a shopping centre environment occasionally, it would be ok.
Anyhoo ... I did a fair whack of research and pram browsing, and we bought the Love N Care Adiva Sport. It has a reversible bassinett (which converts to a seat). It's a four wheeler and is good to use out n about - shopping centres AND footpaths. I didn't go much on the fabric of the handle, but that's my only complaint. It's a top pram so far - easy to manouvre (spell?) and it feels solid. On the con side, it's not exactly light weight and pulls down in two bits (bassinet and pram structure) - however, none of this has been a bother for me. We've got a four-wheel drive boot - not sure if it would fit well in a small car. Cost was about $400-$450 depending on where you buy. By the way, we almost bought the Bebe Caprice - virtually identifcal to the Adiva Sport - however I thought the fabric in the Adiva Sport would be easier to keep clean.
I am absolutely posistive my sister has one and she loves it. I am still green with envy, it looks great, feels great etc etc etc.
Maybe I have it wrong though, I know its steelcraft and the wheels are fine and I knw she gives the pram HEAPS of walks 'cos she has a mental dog she has to take out all the time.
We loved it & had gone to the shop intending to buy one. The sales assistant said that they had heaps returned due to wheel issues, but showed us the Love N Care Delta 2.0 which was identical, but had no wheel problems. We'e been using it for two months & I love it
You have good shop assistants. No one warned me when I was looking at it, I found the reviews online. There were 17 bad reviews.
I haven't seen the Love N Care Delta 2 anywhere, where did you buy it?
The other stroller I looked at which was really cheap was the Swallow Way-2-Go, the basket was a little small but it seemed decent. does anyone know this stroller because I can't find any reviews?
We got it from My Baby Warehouse, but I think they are only in Sydney. I have pics here if that helps! If you have a look at the lovencare website you can see the features etc. I don't have access to the Choice website, but I have heard it rated quite well.
Another pram that has a reversible handle is the Peg Perego Uno. It is a fair bit more expensive though... around the $800-900 mark. But pegs are fantastic prams. I worked at a baby store and pegs were one brand we had very little problems with.
The other one i was thinking of was the Steelcraft Strider. You turn the seat around on this pram rather than the handles. It is a bit wider than the Enigma. I personally don't like these prams (the look mainly) but I know a couple of people who have them and they swear by them.
I have the steelcraft egnima. My DD is 17 months it is lasting well. The only issue I had with it was that if you need to pull it backwards the wheels can be a little dodgie but it's something I've gotten used to. I have another stroller (steelcrft holiday) My DD is happy all day in the Egnima but will only last a couple of hours in the stroller.
