I got mine fitted around 34 weeks. But in saying that my blood pressure had started to rise so was concerned about that.

Ummm... the day she was born

Probably left it a bit late, that

I made the booking about 3 days earlier - by that stage I thought she was never coming, anyway! DH left me at the hopsital in labour to go get it fitted, lol.

At least with a capsule you only need to have the base sitting in the car. But really, it is good to be organised. The midwives kept on telling me off for not having my bags packed at your stage, so installing the capsule seems sensible.

We didnt - DH put it in himself - it really isn't that difficult.

We did ours at about 7.5 months, because DH worked away with no guarantee of being able to get home for the birth etc so wanted me to be prepared

I think doing it now would be prudent and not too eager lol

with Jack we had our infant seat in car by 35 weeks but I had been flown out 3 times and spend 5 of the previous 8 weeks in and out of hospital

this time we still haven't installed either seat, we are getting our new car the week bub is being born so no point installing then taking it out mind you we do have it in the back of car just in case, as for other car well I wont be able to drive for 6 weeks so am guessing it will get done sometime during those weeks

but yeah easy to get it in, if its yours install if its a hire one I would hold off till 37 weeks or so

Around 38 weeks. I agree, if you want to do it....go for it. It may be a little bit more expensive for you (paying 5 weeks prior to EDD) but for peace of mind....do it...

About 38 weeks i think, it was a last minute decision to acutally use one and then DS came 1 week early so it was perfect timing.

It's true what mbear said though, you may end up paying for somethng you're not using but if you want to do it, do it

I'm hiring a capsule from Qld Ambulance and they fit them when you are 38 weeks - so I'm concerned I'll go early.

    Hey ladies
I have bought one - so don't have to worry about the hiring costs. I think i might wait a week... i'm so eager but don't want to seem silly, haha
I'm also curious to see how it fits in the car etc, like if it will sit nicely next to DD's carseat or if i'll have to place them behind the two front seats. hmm, we'll see

    thanks!
