Accuracy of Clear Blue Easy Digital Pregnancy Test? +FR -digi

Just wondering if anyone has had a faint positive FR but a negative clear blue digital test? Does anyone know much about them?

FRERs are much more sensitive than CBDs. FRERs can pick up HCG level of 5 whereas CBDs are meant to pick up from 25.

    Ok thanks N2L.
My AF is a few days late and a FR today showed a barely there faint line but it did come up within 15-20secs. The CBD said not pregnant. My HCG must be very low which is a worry as I only have one damaged tube left due to ectopic pregnancies and at 17plus DPO I'd expect a decent line. I have this feeling I am going to have another ectopic (very high risk due to scarring and adhesions on my remaining tube) So I will be in limbo land by the looks of things.
    Thanks for your reply

I've always got an instant positive as soon as AF is due on the Clear Blue Digitals (so it says Pregnant). With DD1 I tested the day AF was due which was around 14 dpo and with DD2 it was the day before AF was due. I usually have a 28 day cycle. With DD1 I had a blood test that day (or the next, can't remember) and my HCG levels were only 63. I didn't bother finding out my HCG levels with DD2.

So for me they've been super accurate very early on, around 13-14 dpo. I hope your BFP is a real positive. Good luck

Taurean did you test with FMU? I'm trying to hold onto hope that its just to early yet. My urine was very dilute. I pulled the test apart and there is a 2nd line on the clearblue strip that said not pregnant

All the clearblue digitals have 2 lines whether positive or negative.
I would try another FRER tomorrow morning! Goodluck!

With DD1 it was FMU, DD2 was late arvo. That doesn't help much does it! They test differently to other pregnancy tests so analyzing them when pulled apart will give you no extra clues. Fingers crossed for the morning!

Ok well I'll see what tomorrows says. I'll probably do another FR and another digital one. I'd be more inclined to think the digi was definately negative if I didnt have a 2nd line on the FR although it is very faint it came up basically immediately

I've had false positives in the past on FRER hpts. FX for you that the digital is wrong (which is possible if HCG levels aren't very high yet).

Thank you all for your replies. Ive now had 3 very faint FR tests but have also started bleeding so I assume I either wasn't pregnant or something wasn't right and I'm not anymore. Hoping to god its not ectopic as this is what happened then and gradually the line got darker and darker after I started bleeding. I guess my BT results will confirm if I ever was or not. Thanks again

I've been getting faint lines (squinters) on the FRER during BFN cycles for some time now. I can't think of the last time I didn't see a faint second line on one of those tests! Sorry to say, I'd take the digi result as more reliable than a faint line on a FRER. However, if you had a clear/strong line on a FRER, that would be a different story.

As mentioned above, it's the digis are supposed to be less sensitive, but I had the old style ones (without conception indicator) pick up hcg levels lower than the documented sensitivity.

I'm sorry to hear you have started bleeding. I hope it's not an ectopic as you fear.
