    BEST cheap/online HPTS?

Which cheap online home pregnancy tests would you recommend/not recommend?

I've only tried Lullaby conceptions, which i found were consistent and reliable in that i did get a + and the line got progressively darker, and then lighter after my d&c. But the only thing i didn't like was that it claims to be highly sensitive, but i was only getting the faintest + when i was at the same time getting dark + on first response early response.

If i relied on this i wouldn't have even found out i was pregnant as early as i did becase i used FRER first.

Can you suggest something better? And how do you rate the really cheap bulk ones on ebay?

I find the Lullaby Conceptions very sensitive (they claim to be 10iu). I use them to test out trigger shots during ivf cycles.

hi hun. i bulk buy on eBay, i get tests for around 20 cents each from Fertility2Friend . i can't say if they're good or not, as i haven't had a BFP with those. my first BFP (which resulted in a m/c) was taken with a FRER, and didn't have any internet cheapies to compare. but the OPKs from Fertility2Friend work great! sorry i wasn't much help.. lol

I have tried a few bulk ebay ones & also lullaby conceptions. Sorry to say nothing compares to First Response for early detection as far as i'm concerned. When i have had quite a dark line on FR, i have to squint, hop on one leg & do a dance to see a barely there line on others . Hope i at least made you smile.

Lol yeah me too! Theres also something safe and reassuring about the frer being in the big solid plastic casing where you can put the lid on and religiously protect that bfp... many times dh thought i'd gone insane as i clutched my frer and carried it around in my purse so i could keep checking the bfp was still there

I just cant afford them for ocd-poas ways!

I was disappointed in the oracle ones. I didn't get a BFP until 13dpo and even then it faded to nothing when it dried. The BFP on the FRER from the same urine sample was clear as day, even after drying.

A friend recommended the inpregnancy ones (ebay), but I haven't had a BFP since buying them to test them out myself. Her only criticism of them was that they weren't at their darkest until 20 or 30 mins after testing. Of course, she is pg with twins, so she might have gotten an early BFP with any brand...

All the Americans I speak to rave about the Wondfos lately, but I don't know if we can buy them here?

wondfos are ALL the rage in america, and the FRERs are frowned upon, giving many evap/false positives! (but my experience with the FRERs in australia have been great)

FRERs are still considered the "best" but they are more expensive. You can get Wondfos on Amazon and they are pretty cheap. There was a recall on them last year though because of false positives. Stay away from the blue ones (any brand) as they are notoriously unreliable.

I used to agree with you, but lately I've been getting funny things with the FRERs. Frequently (almost always, to be honest) the test strip is visible while the (BFN) test is wet (the time frame in which you're meant to look) and I have actually had one replaced because it gave me TWO test lines (ie 2 test lines plus the control, so 3 lines total!) and was actually a BFN. I have much less faith in them than I used to, but I agree that they are probably still the best of the commonly available ones here in Australia (for now), aside from the digis ($$$). Love the digis!!

N2L, 100% with you on avoiding any blue dye ones!!

oh my. that's terrible juniper76 . false positive are a terrible thing, i couldn't imagine the emotional roller coaster of it all. but 3 lines?? that's shocking. i love the clear blue digital ones, but they're wayyy too pricey to be a POAS addict.. like myself

I notice with the ones with thicker lines, ie, not frer, its easier to see the "shadow" effect of the second line which can look like a bfp. Been there done that and its depressing!

The cheapest i've found frer is $12 for 3 but postage $6.50 which would mean i'd have to buy in bulk to make it cheaper than in store. Its still over $3 a test, can't really justify it because I know when I have them in the house i use them, daily, sometimes more than one because i either think i see a line and need to re-check it, or i convince myself the bfn test must be a dud and i waste another one to double check! I'd also make a point of not buying to force myself not to test, to wait, but then i'd cave in and make an excuse to go to the shops to buy more. I don't know if its because i was told i was miscarrying, then that i wasn't but that the hcg wasn't going up normally so i relied on testing every day just to see the line getting darker. Now I'm really scared i'll have another m/c, and although i told myself just to leave things this time and wait, its so hard!
