I have never ever got a +ve OPK with the ebay cheapies. At all times of day, all times of the cycle. Even the cycles where I did conceive, got nuthin. I did get +ve cheapie HPTs though.
My LH is just very elusive![]()
Ok so I have some eBay cheapy OPK's and the control line never seems to be very dark. My cycles are all over the place at the moment so I am trying to confirm when i ovulate with the opk's. The last few days the test line has almost been the same as the control line, but both are still fairly faint. So I don't know if I am going to ovulate or the tests are just crap.
Anyone else had this problem?
ETA: I don't have any ovulation symptoms (though I don't get many usually)

I haven't used the opk's but the eBay hpt's that are meant to be 10mu didn't pick up my pregnancy until cd 17, 3 days after first response picked it up. Even then it was barely a second line. I dont trust them
Thanks guys, well that sucks. I have no idea how long this cycle will be so I don't want to buy them from the chemist at $15 for 7 strips! Ahh, If only my body would give me a legitimate sign! No EWCM-ever makes it extremely hard![]()
i had no luck with cheap bulk opk's or pregnancy tests!
actually i lie - the pregnancy tests worked after a week after i got a positive pregnancy test with crystal clear ones!!
I got some good lines with the ebay OPKs...
Haven't had the chance to use my cheapie HPTs.... yet!
So there is hope?I will just keep trying then. From what i can recall, the only sign of ovulation i seem to get is sore/sensitive nipples. Maybe I'll just look out for that and keep using the OPK's. I've got like 50 of them lol
I also felt the cheapie opks were useless when I started using them-I was especially annoyed with the faint control line. But they've turned out to be working just fine, I get clear positives where the test line is darker than the control (which is easy to read seeing as the control line is so faint anyway!)
So I'd say try it and see how it works for you. Although I have regular cycles, I don't get noticeable ewcm or any obvious O sign so the cheapies have helped me lots.

I found that the clearblue digital ovulation tests worked better than the eBay cheapies. There's no guess work with these at all its either a smiley face or blank circle.
However they are roughly 50 dollars for 20. Which isn't so bad if you've considered getting 7 for 55 at the chemists!
Ones that I thought were ok (you still have to guess with them) are the inpregnancy ones off eBay. I found them more sensitive than others I tried whilst ttc.
If you don't have a lot of ewcm there's something else you can get to aid the swimmers into the right spotits called preseed and it mimics fertile cm. Impressive huh?
Good luck and happy ttc-ing.

I bought OPKs and HPTs from ebay. I was ready to toss the OPKs out when I didn't get a 2nd line when I was sure I was Oing. I got the line 2 days after I thought I should have O'd and it was a nice dark one. Haven't had a +ve HPT yet from them. AF is due Thursday, so impatiently waiting with a millions -ve HPTs.
Thanks LysnDan, we already have preseed and have been using it for a while. I actually can't remember if we used it when we did conceive last month, but i don't think we did. And the chemist ones are about $15 for 7. I did see the clearblue ones, but it just didn't seem worth it. I would buy the good expensive ones if i had a rough estimate as to when i would be ovulating, but seeing as I have absolutely no idea I might wait.
Thanks everyone for your input![]()
have you tried maybe baby? thats the only way i could work out when i was ovulating..
No haven't tried maybe baby Alish. But i just googled progressive OPK's of women with PCOS and mine look the same. But I had scans and BT when I was seeing a GYN and he didn't say anything about PCOS. So confusing!!!
I bought some from Oracle Fertility they were cheaper than ebay and worked great.. I got a faint line then a dark positive... then a light positive, each month i tried, so three tests were helpful every monthI just started testing around 4 days after AF stopped and until i got a positive. the pregnancy tests are great too so id recommend getting a mixed pack. I think 40 opk and 10 preg tests for $7.....
goodluck
Hmm, i think the ones I just ordered are oracle ones. I just got the ovulation ones because I have HEAPS of pregnancy ones left from the other package.
OMG, Oracle ones are sooooo much better. they are so clear! Very happy with them. Will be even happier when they give me a positive OPK![]()
