Hi y'all,

Well my cycles are pretty irregular and since coming off the pill I haven't had 'proper' ones...until last month, when I got really bad period pains like I used to get prior to going on the pill. So I assumed my cycle was finally settling down... (Jan = 32 days, Feb = 38, Mar = 31). So we kept ttc and I had lots of ewcm on day 20 of this cycle (25 April) so we went for it (iykwim!!).

To cut a long story short, I took a hpt on Sunday (day 32) and got a faint positive - didn't have to squint like in previous months and you could hold it at arm's length and still see it (just!). So was really happy and cried with emotion blah blah blah... but thought - hmm, don't think AF due till tues (day 34 - took this as average over previous mths but not definite it IS 34!).

So I tested again yesterday (Tues - day 34) and got ANOTHER faint positive - very very very slightly fainter than Sunday's but still + all the same :-) But me and DH are bit nervous about celebrating and don't know if should test again next week...? I mean, I'm definitely pregnant aren't I? I'm just paranoid about losing it and having AF late (been so desperate for this bub...) and, if it was up to me, I'd test every week till 40 weeks, haha!

So what I really want to know is:-

(1) I am definitely pg aren't I? (I've had tender tingling boobies / nipples and funny crampy pains in lower belly, sometimes on left, sometimes in middle);

(2) Should I test again next week? My doc has taken my word for it and said I don't need to come in, just make an appointment with midwife at 10-12 weeks, but I want to see her now to put my mind at rest!!

(3) How do I tell how far gone I am? Lots of the "due date calculators" on the internet don't give you the option of entering your cycle date, so if these are based on 28 days then I'll be a few days "less" pregnant won't I? If you take the first day of my last period it's 5 weeks tomorrow, but whereas normally you knock 2 weeks off and say "ok you're actually 3 weeks since conception" I may be only 2 and a bit weeks since conception - how old is my baby / embryo and how far gone am I and is it the same thing??

AAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

PS - how soon can we start celebrating without tempting fate? (am pretty sure I've had 2 chemical pregnancies in the past...).

PPS - How soon should we tell our family? I can't wait till the first scan!!
