Hi all,
I am hoping that there is someone out there who has used clearblue home pregnancy test (not the digital one). Yesterday, middle of the day I did a pregnancy test and I got a very thin blue line. This occured within 10min. And increased in colour. It is off centre. Just doesn't look like a positive to me, even though there is a definite line there. (I tried to put a picture in the gallery but apparently you need to have had 50 posts to be able to do this?? Is there any other way that I can put my photo up?) On looking at some other websites there are some articles that say that clearblue did have some faulty tests that sounded similiar to my result. However they were written in 2006-7, and you would hope that these tests were no longer on the market.
I have irregular periods and have had one period since I miscarried in July. 28days from my last period will be Tuesday. Also did the Clearblue digital test today="not pregnant". I just feel I can't keep buying pregnancy tests, but at the same time I can't wait for my period to come. As I type that I know it sounds like I'm a bit crazy and irrationale, and I'm starting to think that I am. I wish I could just chill out, but its soooo hard. I hate feeling like this.
Hey,
All I can say is that if the line appeared within the time slot, then your PG.
I would disregard the digital pregnancy test, i have personally found them to be unreliable. They also require a higher HCG level for a positive result, if your early in PG it might not register on the digital test.
I would go to a doc and get my blood tested, that way there is no doubt if your PG or not, they will also do a pee test too.
Good luck!!
I have found Clearblue reliable - both normal and digital. But yes the digital does require a slightly higher HCG in the urine. You said you did it in the middle of the day - I would do another one with first morning wee and see how that goes considering it is before AF due anyway.
If you want to put a pic of it up add a lilypie ticker - you could do a TTC one and add the photo of the HPT. That's the only way I can think that you could do it.
They say a line is a line but in my experience mixed results like you are getting usually mean an early loss, but as the others have said the digital ones aren't as sensitive. I have used the digital one you speak of and got a + result on the day AF was due. Can't remember if I've used the other one. I've never experienced a false positive with any brand.
If it turns out you are not pregnant invest in some lullaby conception ones. They are really cheap. I used the early ones and could test a couple of days before AF was due but I only tested if I was having symptoms or had what looked like a implantion dip.
If you really think you could be pregnant just head off to a bulk billing clinic & ask for a blood test. It wont cost you a cent & will stop you from wasting anymore time and money on HPTs that could give you mixed results.
the same has happened to me today... woke up and did a preg test which was positive within the 1st 5 min, so went to have a blood test which showed no trace of hcg. they said i had good lutreal phase levels (oest 374 prog 30.3).... weird, maybe too early. feeling really tired and boob are sore.

Hi everyone
Thank you so so much for your support and advise. Especially Satya. I have tried uploading a photo of the preg test on my belly belly ticker, however I think it is too small and doesn't do it any justice. Today I ended up doing another test, wasn't first morning urine (I know I know, what can I say-I'm addicted, and I didn't have a test when I got up) Anyway I used the same test as the one where I had got the positive looking result, and nothing-was very negative! So now I have one more test left (different brand), and I will do in the morning-if thats negative I am not doing anymore until next cycle or if I don't get my period in the next 2weeks I will do one then. I am commiting to all you reading and myself. Very hard to get into a GP where I live so by the time I get in for the blood test I'm sure I will know either way. I am really thinking that I'm not pregnant and the test was faulty. As I said yesterday I found a site where a few women had experienced a similiar result to mine, and Clearblue had even sent them replacement pregnancy tests. I rang the company today but the lady I spoke to knew very little. Anyway if any good news tomorrow I will let you all know. Thanks Again x

: Unable to get ticker working
I see you got the pic up eventually. It sure looks like a positive.
I'm presuming that as you didn't post again you weren't pregnant.
It could have been an early loss or what some people call a chemical pregnancy - you can get a positive test or two - even get a positive blood test (usually a low positive) but your AF arrives a few days late.
I got a positive on a clear blue digital test (50 miu) at 12DPO and 13DPO using FMU. I found them to be quite reliable.
I have however gotten a false positive (very faint) on a crystal clear test.
Did your doctor tell you what your hcg levels were or just 'negative'? If he ordered a qualitative hcg test, it just comes back as positive (>25 miu) or negative (<25 miu). A quantitative test actually gives you your hcg levels. So if your pregnancy test was more sensitive than 25 miu, you could have simply done the BT too early and are actually pregnant.
Strange though that you got a negative second time around. Best of luck with this.
