    Help with OPK test

Today I used my first ovulation test just trying to watch my cycle a little more closely. I assume I will ovulate this coming Wednesday as the first day of last AF was 18th May, and normally I am bang on 28days. So today i tested and a faint second line came up. The packet says this means you will ovulate in the next 24-36hrs. So if I test again tomorrow and the next day will the lines get darker as it gets closer to O and on O day??
Or do I just assume it will be the next few days considering the second line??

    Thanks in Advance!

If the line is feint it's usually negative. With OPK's it's only positive if the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. For me, I didn't find they got progressively darker as I got closer to O. I also found that charting my temperature helped pinpoint ovulation because until I got used to them I found OPK's quite hard to interpret sometimes. For a 28 day cycle I would start testing around day 10 just in case you O earlier than the normal day 14.. GL

Thanks for the reply. I thought it was going to be a simple as POAS!

hmmm so do you think day 12 (today) is too late to start?? Temp is probably a good idea too. Although we are not TTC I am wondering what happens in my cycle because the O symptoms change each month.
I appreciate your answer, I still can't believe it's not just a case of reading the lines! lol

No day 12 should be fine.. Also best at the same time of the day. 2pm is apparently the best time, but I did mine between 12 and 1.. Not as simple as POAS unfortunately lol.. They are exxy too. You can get cheap ones on E bay, I did and they work.. I found temping and OPK's good.. Either one by themselves I found too confusing. I liked to see a pattern of positive OPK's and temp dips lol..

this month still waiting for o and getting faint lines on ebay ones. should i try FR again?

charting as well and temps not indicating o - just wondering.

I used cheap (very cheap, $20 for 50 tests or something) OPK's and it worked for me! If temps aren't indicating O, and lines are only feint, I would say maybe you aren't ovulating. Have you had a progesterone blood test 7DPO? If not, I'd be off to the Dr's..

I just looked at your chart and maybe you ovulate late?
