I've done a hpt but it has only come up with a feint 2nd line. The next morning I tried again and it basically looks the same!
Should it have been a bit darker by now or should I wait a bit longer?
How long is it between the hcg counts muultiplying?
I dont feel at all premenstrual, my nose has been really stuffy, I've been quite tired too!
I would've been due yesterday for Af...
Please help! I'm getting really anxious and hopeful....
Hi Hindonly,
It is awful isn't it when you are in that 'am I or aren't I' stage.
The golden rules for HPTs are:
* Use your first urine of the day
* Follow the instructions on the test
* Disregard any result after the allocated time frame
* Read your test at arms length
* If you see two lines on a test and the test line is coloured (a greyish line is an evaporation line) then the test has detected HCG.
So, if you can see two coloured lines the test you are pregnant! It is not unusual in the early days of pregnancy to not notice a lot of difference in the colour of the lines two days in a row. Try if you can to hold off and test again on Monday morning. If you are pregnant you will probably notice the line being much more prominent by then. Different test brands have differing colour strengths and also can detect different levels of hcg. So often the brand can make a difference. As I said hold off until Monday and test again.
I personally haven't received dark positives until I am about 2 days post AF being due. Remember that you may have ovulated a little later this month and that can alter the depth of colour on results. Try not to compare colours! A positive is a positive. As I said I didn't notice a really dark line until I was a few days late for AF with ANY of my 7 pregnancies!
I hope you see a BFP then too but it is sounding really positive! (excuse the pun!) Please come back and let us know!
Love Deb
