I know I'm being a bit lazy but I don't have time to go through all the previous threads (although I would honestly love to!) so I was after some feedback on OPK's. Which ones would you recommend?
I've only been temping for a few weeks so I don't have quite enough evidence to know when I O so an OPK would be very handy. AF has just arrived and I'm determined to make December MY month - yes, I have a VERY positive attitude. Let's hope it helps!
i brought mine online at lullaby conceptions. Worked out heaps cheap, at only about $1 each.
My advice thou if you are going to use OPK's is that really, everyone is different. According to the instructions, you need 2 equal strength lines before you call it a positive... well, i never got that at all. I have a either a very weak or, a very fast LH surge, so i would have a negative reading, then, get a faint 2nd line, and then, next day, would pretty much be a negative reading again...
Some people do recomended testing at various times, and also the advise on using FMU or not. I tested at 2pm which, according to Lullaby Conceptions was the best time. I got a BFP on my 2nd month of testing, and only after abit of research, which resulted in me changing my testing time (i was originally testing at 10am) and also working on that 2nd faint line actually being a positive reading. If after your first month of testing, you either get no positive OPK result, as well as a BFN, the following month, test twice a day in case you have a fast, or weak LH surge. Another option perhaps for you to consider if you dont get a strong positive opk result, is, after you "think" you have ovulated, go to your gp, and ask them to do a blood test to check to see if you are ovulating..
I bought an Ovuplan kit last night. Will give that a go this month and if I have no luck, I'll buy cheaper tests of the Net. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll only need them this month - hoping and ing!
