OPK Question

I've been using clearblue digital OPK's this month. (first time I've used them) this morning I got a wonderful smiley face then I did another one around lunch time and it was negative. How reliable are these tests? Has anyone else used them? I am wondering why I would get a positive first then a negative, I am having O pains. Any advice would be great.

Did you have a big drink before you did the arvo one? Usually the LH builds up in your system during the day (I just found this out recently). I recently purchased some OPT's online and the info said to sustain from drinking for 2 hrs before testing, so could it be that your urine was diluted too much? I say if you got a pos at anytime go and grab your man and get busy

I never thought about the hormone getting diluted, D'uh! Even though I'd read about it in the instruction leaflet. Also yes I'd had approximately 1 liter of fluids before I did the second test.
