    Question OPK test lines

Trying to work out if I DID ovulate ... the OPK says the test line will be as dark as the control line, and if not as dark then no LH surge.

I tested Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon as increasing CM on those days.

Line started off faint (feint?) but by Sun was much darker - but not as dark as the control line. Still, it was very obviously there, and I didn't need a high voltage magnifying glass to see it ! CM peaked on Sunday too.

Any thoughts. The T line wasn't as strong as the C line, but not far off it. So I "think" I did, but maybe I'm kidding myself? My cycle is pretty weird at the moment (I'm far from a CD28er), so it's entirely possible I almost - but didn't - ovulate if the OPKs are spot on.

AndiE- the only way to find out if you have in fact ovulated is either an ultrasound (showing a corpus luteum) or a blood test at 7dpo. (7 days till AF is due. For progesterone. On a unmedicated cycle the levels are meant to be over 11, on a medicated cycle they like it to be over 30!)

Generally speaking though, you will tend to ovulate 12-36 hours after your very first positive opk.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks LynsDan - yeah, I'm pretty well read on the OPKs so DH and I didn't um, shy away from making the most of a possible positive OP test. And cheers for the other info, though I won't blood test to find out ... will just have to wait and see what happens AF-wise. Can't say I'm hopeful cos my cycle is totally out of whack, but ya never know. Thanks again.

    Thanks Cheshire.
The OPKs were bought in bulk over the internet, so that's interesting you say that. I did wonder if they would be as good/accurate as the store bought ones.
    Hmmm, food for thought.

Hi I never got a line as dark as the control line, so the first couple of times waited and tested again only to find i missed it.. in the end I threw that idea out the window along with the tests..
it was way toooo stressful and just went with EWM and sex each second day...the month we got our BFP we only DTD once and i was very angry with DH becuase he refused at what I thought was a crtical time...so just goes to show someimtes it just happens.
