Can't see how it would. After all, the test is for luteinising hormone, not sperm
Btw. You don't ovulate the day you get a positive opk. You ovulate approx 36 hours later.
Can sperm on an OPK cause a false positive?
The only times I've had a positive (or very close to positive) OPK, it's been on a day hubby and I have DTD and I've had (TMI) a bit of leakage onto said OPK. I'd like to think we're just that good and somehow knew I was ovulating, but it seems a bit suss to me that I only ever get positives when we've already had sex.
I've counted the last one as O day because I've had a few of my other O signs, but I'm still curious. Should I be making him wait until I've POAS first?
BTW, I've already googled and the general consensus is no, but I trust BellyBelly more than other lesser forums![]()

When i was doing timed intercourse with clomid, my FS said to dtd for three days after a positive opk.
Hope that helps!
Semen contains luteinising hormone, there have been a few recent studies on whether it can be used as an indication of male fertility, and also on whether the hormones in semen can influence ovulation. Maybe the OPK is picking it up? I'm not sure of the levels that men have, but depending on the sensitivity of your test it may be enough for a positive?
I'm hoping that's not the case this month for me, but very interesting to knowI like being right, even though I wanted to be wrong

Fingers crossed it is just a coincidenceI loved the Internet cheapies for this, I could POAS whenever and not feel bad about it, with PCOS I got lots of 'almost positives'!
With Internet cheapies I only ever get almost positives, even when blood tests confirm a surge. I don't use them any more.
