    Question Trying to understand OPK's - 3 days +ve

I conceived my DD using opk's but this time its taking a little longer.

So I was wondering if anyone actually knows why you can get positives for 3 days??

Im guessing it means the LH levels are increasing (24 to 36 hours before ovulation) but could it be that I o on the 3rd day??

Just wondering it I still have a chance of catching the eggie..

Are the lines getting darker than lighter? Or darker then negative? It also depends on the time of day you are testing. My understanding is that mostly you would O on the day after a positive OPK. I haven't use them too much but found I would get 2 or 3 days of positives then I would O on the day I got a negative OPK. But everyone is different. I hope some others can share their experience with you

Georgi: The lines are getting darker, I normally test around the same time each night at 6pm. The lines normally start to get lighter on day 4..

Eng - Hello! From my experience with OPK's the past few months when you get a positive (both of the 2 lines has to be the same dark colour for it to be positive) you will usually O 24-26 hours after the positive. I have been testing all week and only got faint second lines since yesterday morning, but today it's darker although not as dark as the control line yet.

As soon as my test line is the same shade (darkness) as my control line, I will know that I'm about to O about 24-36 hours after... In my case I would say probably tomorrow. In your case, I would ask, how dark were the second lines on your tests? If they were as dark as the control line, then you would've O'd already, if they were lighter, then you still have a chance of catching your eggie!!

Good luck hunni, I really hope you catch your eggie this month!

See ya tomorrow for lunch - realllllllly looking forward to it!!

Have they been that same colour since you first tested a few days ago? If yes, then you would've O'd the day or so after you first got the same colour on both lines. Continue to BD just incase anyway! I pray you catch your eggie - that we both do for those 10.10.10 October babies!!

I'm off to bed now. Hope you have a great night *wink wink* and will definitely see ya tomorrow!

ENG - That's great that they get the same as the control line. Mine never did (I used Lullaby concepts). If they are then getting lighter I guess that would mean that your LH surge is at the trail end so O should be that day or next.

    Good luck!
Hope you girls have a nice lunch tomorrow!

Oh, I thought your lunch was tomorrow

So it seems you released the egg last night or today. Hope you got BDing! I'm pretty sure you have 12 - 24 hours once the egg is released to catch it.

Good luck in your TWW. I'll be keeping an eye on you!
