Typical. I have so much to get prepared for tomorrows first day at pre-school and tonight is the night G is unsettled and the bigger ones want cuddles and Mumma in bed I miss that extra pair of hands and someone to share the excitement / trepidation with. So incredibly sad right now I guess just another one of the many firsts I will be doing without him. And I am so looking forward to the conversation with pre-school tomorrow about our *situation* - NOT!!
Jayne - just another hug but I will be back with you on skype xx
I'm really freaking out about Wednesday... I'm scared to death and I don't know why - it's not the injections, and I've had four different types of injection to give myself... I'm just scared I won't be approved despite my rheumy's assurances and scared it won't work and that I won't find my way to the right place in the hospital... Kind of wishing I'd organised someone to come and hold my hand rather than someone to mind Sam.
Oh well, pain meds and sleep - all I can do for now.
I'm here. A little shocked & a lot sad. Sad for my Mum & my sister mostly. They were so much closer to her than I. She was the most lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely person. She honestly was. My sister & I used to always ask her to be our mum. lol. She always wore this outrageous blue mascara as well. I'm tempted to just go buy myself some - just because.
Alan is really ill so we have been chilling a lot in the house today. It's been nice. Until the shock news.
Jayne Sending you a great big and a I hope Alan is feeling better soon too.
Michelle I didn't realise it is Mr O's 1st day at Pre school tomorrow. I hope he has a fabulous day and I'm sure the teachers there will be understanding and hopefully you won't have to go into too much detail for them to get the picture kwim? Please be gentle on yourself and know we are all here
I know words aren't adequate and don't change anything in the grand scheme of things but you are in my thoughts always
Bek & Willow I'm sorry but I think you both should go for #4 You all know my thoughts on #4..It was always my "magic" number but unfortunately that has been taken out of my hands unless I'm blessed with..wait for it .................TRIPLETS ..Oh a clucky, desperate, hormonal woman can dream can't she lol.
To those of us whose little ones are off to Pre School for the very 1st time this week I'm thinking of you all. I know Sage is very excited about going on Friday but this mumma bear is quietly freaking out..My baby boy is growing up and while that is a wonderful thing its also a little bit scary ITMS.
My DH is back to the GP tomorrow as he's still not well..The weight is still dropping off him and he's still feeling very unwell but he has the most gorgeous dimples back on his cheeks when he smiles..I actually forgot he used to have them and Oh my don't I feel bad about that I just wish they'd find out what's wrong and make him well again.
Oh, lots of big hugs needed in here!!!! Especially Michelle, Jayne and BW
Bek, and Willow, I hear you! I've chatted to Michelle about this. I'm actually very okay (ATM haha) with having two babies - I'm so loving having my two boys. And as much as I am loving the beautiful baby stuff, I can see the light We all know I don't do a good pregnant, I struggle with breastfeeding, and my kids have allergies. All of these things really really make me NOT want to go again. I struggle with all of it. And you know, we feel complete. I can see it being the four of us for years to come. BUT - I can really really see myself falling pg again. In fact, there is a whole scenario that plays over and over in my mind (I won't discuss it here, for fear of upsetting my lovely friends, it's a sensitive topic), and I just can't get past it. I don't WANT it to happen, I just have this nagging feeling that it WILL. Like when I could always picture (before falling pg with DS2) having a caesarean - I could see it all happening. I put it down to just being afraid of having one. But I honestly could see it all, pretty much as it happened in the end. And I *knew* that DS2 would be born in the last week of February. I even told a friend about that one, because it scared me so much....but she reassured me that it was too early and it wouldn't happen LOL!
Argh, anyway, I get what you're saying! Sometimes you know that something out there is your destiny, uncontrollably. Sorry that turned into a big rant, it's been on my mind.
Jayne, I'm so sorry hun 2011 is turning out pretty $hitty as far as I'm concerned.
Michelle, I hope it all goes well tomorrow, good luck with the *chat*. I'll be holding your hand
Mako, DS1 is off to Kinder on Friday too! I'm so freaking excited for him, I think he's going to love it. I think kinder and preschool are a bit different? I don't really know about the differences between VIC and NSW. When will Sage start school?
Janie Sage will go to Pre School for 2 years so this year he's only going 1 day a week and next year he'll go for 2 or maybe 3 days and then off to big school the year after..So that will be 2013.
I have decided to work on the lunar calendar and start the year with the Year of the Rabbit and wipe last year as a rough one (serious understatement!!!) because it was the Year of the Tiger. Roll on February 3rd!!!!
Sounds like a good plan Michelle. It's very festive here in China with the New Year approaching & we have a whole cupboard full of fireworks just waiting to be lit. Alan had a blast shopping for them all. We were such dags last night & lit a little grenade style one on the gas & threw it out the window. Was hilarious. We were still laughing like kids this morning. The kids were being the adults & watching tv while we were locked in the kitchen arguing over who was going to light the firework. I won (of course) & made Alan light it. I already have a hand injury - hahaha.
I'll light a couple for you & I'll get Alan to take footage & I'll e-mail it.
I always wanted fireworks at my wedding - was a childhood dream of mine, so Alan got me a box especially for me. The big flower type ones that shoot right up in the sky. Love it!
Xinnian Kuaile!!! ( I can't figure out how to do the proper marks above the letters though).
Michelle - Thinking of you today. It's a tough day for most mums but particularly so for you. Good luck with the *chat*. I hope it all goes smoothly and he has a wonderful first day!
Janie - It's so weird just feeling like you know what's to come. Doesn't help I had my cards read and was told I wasn't done yet and there'd be one more. So stoopid, but I can't stop thinking about that because she was right about a lot of other things. In your case, if you really do not want another pregnancy, I highly recommend the mirena...no whoopsies happening here babe! *Sigh* LOL.
Mako - Best of luck with DH's appt today. I hope you guys get some answers soon, it must be awful to feel that sick all the time - kinda like the joys of MS?!!
OK ladies....I have a sinking feeling that after 5 years of bfing the dreaded mastitis has finally caught up with me. I woke this morning feeling a bit achey and not quite right. Put it down to stress and thought I must have just slept in an odd position. But then I got in the shower and my boobs are sooooo sore, one more so than the other and it has feint red-ish mark on it, very sore to touch. Sound familiar anyone? I'm not 100% sure because I've never had it before and I'm thinking it could be hormonal because something odd happened yesterday too - I got 'af' if you could even call it that. I've had one in 4 years (the only one I had between L and D) and then one 'episode' of spotting since I had the mirena put in. I wouldn't even call yesterday spotting but I did notice something not quite 'normal'.
You've got to be kidding right??!! Why now after feeding for so long and never having it and now is just the most *awesome* time for me to get it when I'm here on my own, haven't even sorted a GP yet, no one to help me with the boys and two kids starting school this week. Grrrrrrrr. Am going to try to see a Dr tomorrow....wish me luck!!

Willow, big big hugs, mastitis bites the big ones!!! Try not to stress though, you may not even need the GP. Today it's important to feed feed feed from the affected side. Of course, being careful to drain the other side well also. You can try using a warm pack (or warm wet cloth etc) BEFORE a feed, and then immediately AFTER apply a cold pack. Try positioning D so that his chin is lined up with where the redness is. Can you feel any lumps? I'm sure it's sore to touch, but as you know, it's important to clear any blockages. Gravity helps too, so going on all fours, say on the bed, with D lying under you (if possible, I don't know how wriggly he is. And yep, I know that's a great visual, but it really can help!).
And don't hate me for saying it, but when one has mastitis, it's really important for one to rest (running off and hiding now!). I'm sure that's really hard for you, but once treated, mastitis disappears as quickly as it starts! So if you can get onto it, you'll feel heaps better. If after trying all those things today you're getting worse tomorrow, then it'll be a good thing to go to the GP and get some ABs. But many mums find they can treat it themselves at home, if they get onto it before they're flat on their back.
Text or ring me if you want, I'll check in on you later xoxo
Thanks so much Janie! Jumped onto the ABA forum but they are pretty slow to answer over there. I just fed him so might sneak in a feed again this arvo (he is down to 3 a day now) and then try the heat and cold packs. Then when DH gets home I'll jump in a hot shower and give it a good massage. I can't feel any definite lumps though? Definitely one area that is sore but not a lump as such. I'm actually feeling OK now so I'm not sure if that's what it is but will do all the things you've said just in case. I forgot I actually made appts for the boys with the local GP for tomorrow, just to suss him out and get a referral for a pead for D. So I canceled L's appt (I forgot he starts preschool tomorrow!) and took the appt for myself instead. So I have it if I need it. Let's hope I don't. Having your breast examined is not the nicest of introductions
On a brighter note - School drop off went well this morning. I nearly cried at one point but sucked it up for her sake. The principal asked if there were any new students starting today and hers was the only little hand that shot up Will see how she goes on pick up this afternoon. One down, one to go.
Michelle - How did you guys go today? Have been thinking of you all morning.

ROFL! When I had it I couldn't feel any lump at all, but it was definitely mastitis. Just makes it easier if you can figure out where the blockage is, that's all. I had the red sore area though, ouchies. It hit me really hard, I was flat on my back 30 minutes after first feeling unwell. But 24 hours after starting ABs I was heaps better. Good luck babe!!!
Oh Willow... I hope it's not mastitis.. it's not much fun! I had it twice when feeding Luke and got really sick with it (sorry, not what you want to hear). I had definite lumps though and couldn't even massage them, they were that sore!! Janie knows what she's talking about so definitely go with everything she said! Good luck.
Michelle - Hope all went as good as possible today.. have been thinking of you.. and everyone else with their first 'school' dropoffs!! We've got Luke's kindy orientation on Thursday.. I can't wait!! He only goes for two mornings though.
Jayne - Hope you're ok hun.. what terrible news. I loved reading about the fireworks though - hahahaha.. I'd be the same!!
And everyone wanting third and forth bubs... I think you're MAD.. LOL. We're definitely done with it and I couldn't be happier. I'm finding it all a bit hard with Campbell again now.. I've just decided I'm not good with babies!! I've also decided that I don't care about routines or sleeps or anything!! Campbell just won't sleep during the day.. especially in his cot.. so bugger it, if he wants to sleep on the couch, he can sleep on the damn couch!! I'm not so happy about the sleeping on me in the sling.. but it beats the crying. It's killing my back and neck though, i'm in agony!! I just wish I had my Mum to go and visit.. really missing her like crazy now. And the house is sooooo filthy.. really needs a clean. God knows when I'll be able to do that.
Oh man... he's awake and crying again.. gotta go. I feel so terrible for Luke too.. he's not getting much attention and it's too hot to go out for a walk or anywhere for that matter. Sorry.. just feeling a bit down. Also started the mini pill and I think it's affecting me.. LOTS of headaches (although that could be coming from my sore neck/back).. and I'm really grumpy. Might have to stop taking it.
MICHELLE _ How did the big boy go today? I have been thinking about you!!
KELLY _ Oh darl, I'm so sorry it's all just too much atm, things will calm down, I'm promising you! & I'm with you, the clucky girls in here are just nuts. They need to talk to a therapist or something. I WISH I could talk myself into another one, but I just can't. I LOVE babies & I cluck like a mother hen over them, but I have no inclination to do it myself. Alan's work friend is coming to visit us over Chinese New Year & they have a newborn son & I can't wait to get my hands on him. I forget his Chinese name but it translated to 'little tiger'. How cute!
WILLOW _ Ouchies babe, I hope that your mastitis clears really quickly & I hope it's NOT that actually. I had a little blockage once when feeding Claudia & it was awful. & I hear you on the no help, sometimes Alan is like that. He has no concept of time (it's hereditary I'm sure), & he seems to think whenever I get the kids to bed at night is good enough. Well to me, not when they have school the following day! It irks me no end. Same with getting them to school on time. He took them on Friday & I was having heart palpitations beacuse he was just plodding along in his own sweet time. Grrr!!!1
So lets do a head count for 15 July............ Who's looking at coming in? Freya I would be soooooooooo sad but I completely understand your predicament, but I don't have to like it. I will miss you.
LISA _ How are you darl? Are you off to the Dr tomorrow?
Michelle: I'm so proud of you. What a huge day for you and your little people.
Ok AF is back and a big arse cyclone is coming. That about sums up my life ATM. We are prepared to evacuate West. Just waiting on the 11am update because it looks like it's heading further North. This one is a biggie. I'm really worried but if it is coming here, we're not going to hesitate and leave. Dh will have to stay and work but the kids, my parents and grandma are ready to blow this Popsicle stand.
