Just stalking Lisa....
Jayne - Is zumba a good work out or not? I've heard mixed reviews. It is one of the few options I have here, so I'm considering it. Even that won't be easy once DH starts shift work (blah!)

Not pregnant!! Im quite relieved as we really weren't planning for another baby - Rob wants one more. Ive always wanted 3 but since Natalya and with her ongoing sleep issues, I dont think I could cope just yet with one more and if it was like her, then Id seriously have a mental breakdown. Not sure how I will feel down the track but for now Im relieved.
Although bbs are still hurting, so if no af in a few days, ill test again.
Thank you all for your support - love you to bits ladies. I havent event told any of my friends IRL - id rather share with you all first.
Lisa xxxxx
If you're happy Lis, I'm happy
Howdy strangers. Well not really stangers but you get what I mean. I've been reading each and every one of your posts but I'm finding it really hard to get my groove back.
Lisa: I'm happy for you that things seemed to have worked out how you want. And hey if you get a BFP in a few days then I think you'll make a spectacular mummy of three.
Jayne, Jayne, Jayne: You rock woman. I have been reading your posts and just thought about how awesome you are. I'm so glad things are working our for you over in China. You are so likeable I'm sure you could fit in anywhere.
Mako: Babe sorry to hear DH has been so sick. I hope he gets better but by the sounds of it he's on the mend. Nevermind 3 yr old tantrums, Mr B has decided to start throwing spectacular hissy fits. I must admit the amount of effort he puts into them are kinda cute. Just hang in there, it will pass.
Michelle: mwah mwah mwah. That's about it. I love seeing the pics of your adorable kidson FB and wish I lived closer to be able to See you IRL more often.
Willow: Glad to hear the move went well. Having recently moved from a capital city to a smaller regional town I am so happy. I really don't think you or the kids will look back.
Bek: Oh I so get what you mean. I'm sorry to hear that things all came to a head for you on NYE but also so proud of you for making the changes to get you back to that happy place. And for what it's worth, I think you're smoking.
Freya: Hun I know you've been through hell with Rips DX and I just wanted to reiterate the fact that you are doing a sensational job with him. He is lucky to have such a switched on mumma. I'm also thrilled to hear the swimming teaching is going so well.
Bun: Far out babe, how stressfull with the move. Having moved upteen times I know what it's like. I hope things settle soon. Happy belated 1st Birthday to your handsome little guy too.
Deb:    ;)
Kelly: You're boys are just so cute. How are you finding it? Wait until they start playing together, it's just the best.
Amanda: How is your massage training going? How are you and the lad coping with daycare? It's hard isn't it?
Hi to everyone else :hello:
Well AFM where do I start. I'm going to do it bullet point so my post doesn't go on for a decade (lol)
* B turned one
* B started day care and O started Kindy
* I went back to work three days a week
* My brain hurts and I feel like it's all mush since being home.
* O is going through a major Daddy only stage to the point he is actually being mean to me. Luckily DH won't take it and pulls him into line when he is leaving me out.
* B's sleep is still shocking, it's has improved slightly but he still isn't sleeping through. I've tried everything but he is a boob-a-holic so I'm going to try to night wean him soon.
* DH is about to go on the same sandy holiday and Freya's DH so it will be a hectic, and long year.
* I'm still fat and actually had full bloods by my doc because nothing I was trying was working. Got really low Iron and B12 so hopefully once the vitamins kick in I won't feel so tired all the time.
I think that's about it. I just feel blah ATM. I still can't put my finger on it. My GP said that Low iron and B12 can contribute to a depressed mood coupled with the no sleep for over a year and I guess it makes sense.
I've missed you all.
Big love
Spring
Lisa  whatever happens, you we will be there to love and support you. Did DH tell you we chatted the other night when he assumed your identity :D
Spring  for you too. This is going to be such a tough year for you and Freya. Stick with us so we can love you *mwah*
Well, mummy is playing hard ball and O-man's dummy is day time gone in preparation for pre-school which starts in a bit over a week :o Where did that time go.
BBL - G is screaming and I need to check the big ones go to sleep for a bit. Big morning at the gym for them ;)
Michelle - he did! Every time he goes on my account to have snoop he gets caught out like that! I hope he was pleasant :D Miss A gave her dummy to Santa - she has cried a few times and asks for it every few days but for the most part she is fine since we took it away. Good luck with it hun!
Spring - hi there - nice to see you. Hope the vitamins are able to give the extra boost you need. How did B go with childcare? Ive just moved the girls to a new centre as I found the one I had them going to was not a good fit for Miss A. She is much happier now.
Thank you thank you thank you my loves - you support means the world to me. Im really looking forward to seeing you girls come July.
Lisa glad you got the results you were kinda hoping for
Michelle Good luck with Mr O and his dummy..I hope it goes as smoothly as it possibly can  Also I'm with you on the starting Pre School thing too..This time in 2 weeks I'll be picking my boy up from his 1st day :(
Spring Big  babe. Its good to see you pop back in here and update us on what's been going on in your little part of the world.
Bek  coming your way too.
Sorry for the lack of personals today..I'm having a really bad day for some reason and feel like I'm about to burst into tears at any given moment..Not too sure why or what's going on but I'm so emotional lately..One minute happy then really cranky and then crying..I hate being like this and hope it passes very soon.
Mako - sounds like me today. Although the trigger this afternoon was finding a probable hole in my tooth, needing a dental appointment and then having to sort out childcare. Where is that bloody husband when you need him :(
Oh Michelle I had a filling fall out earlier today and I'm $hit scared of dentists!! The last time I went was the week before our wedding and that was over 6 years ago :hide: No idea when I'm going to get it fixed either.
Big  to you too hun. Have you got someone who can watch the kids for you while you go get yours checked out? If not let me know and I can come down one day next week and watch them for you. I'm serious in my offer too btw.
Thank you gorgeous  My IL's are coming to Sydney for the weekend so they will watch them on Monday for me. 9.30am appointment. I don't mind the dentist (Greg was a shocker for just not seeing one :) ) but I am usually ok and it has been a long time since I have needed anything done. I used to get regular check ups but with being pregnant / breastfeeding, it has been a little while. Although maybe not that long  Just a possible hole right near the gum line at the bottom right (2nd incisor??) That needle will be ouchy!!
LISA_ Phew!!! I'm relieved for you. But I would have been bouncing off the walls with you as well. Whatever YOU want is what I want. lol. Good idea bout Miss A leaving her Dummy for Santa. I think that's a fantastic idea!!!
MICHELLE _ BOL with the dentist, can't say I'm envious. I can't say I'm envious about playing hard-ball about the dummy either. I took Jessica's off her at 12 months, when she couldn't actually ask me for it. bahahaha. Have you tried the 'big boys who go to school don't have dummies' line? I'm sure you have already. Just stay tough on it though, if you really don't want him to have it, don't give in. I know it sounds really harsh, but half of the attachment is that it's your saviour as well. You know?
FREYA _ Yes of course I am ALWAYS up for shopping. I'm excited already! You can bring the boys, just assign one to me & I'll be his Nanny for the day. lol. But preferrably one that isn't in nappies. bahahaha. Kidding! So sorry your man is going to be away, but we can still play!!! I can't wait!!! I might be a tad more excited about Sydney than visiting Perth. Whoops!
MAKO _ I don't want to get your hopes up, but is there a reason you are so teary that you haven't thought of out loud??? I'm so sorry to hear. I had one of those days the other day when I reading online about the floods & how the funerals have started & I just welled up. I had a lump in my throat all day long. It's like you are about to bust & anything could set it off. I really hope that tomorrow is a fresh day for you.
WILLOW _ I'll be honest, with the Zumba, if you want a real workout, you have got to go hard at it. Its one of those classes where you only get out of it what you put in. It's a bit like Pump for example. You could just fluff through the class using only the bar, but if you add some weights, then you are going to work harder & feel it more. The first week or so, I didn't go that 'hard' at Zumba. I was learning the steps & I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with the mirrors (I have MAJOR issues with my reflection) & there is a LOT of hip shaking & dry-humping (bahahaha I know I'm not painting the best picture here am I)? lol. But after that, I found a good spot in the class, where I was behind the teacher, so I couldn't see my reflection & I just went for it & since then, not only have my steps improved, but I am keeping up & I'm feeling lighter on my feet every week because I'm going hard at it. I really enjoy it. Today, my arms are really sore, because there were lots of arm movements. Usually I'm a bit sedate with my arms, as I'm too busy concentrating on my feet, but it just all clicked today & I got a real good work out. The one trick I have also found, is to lock on your core the whole time - it makes a big diff. & it stopped my belly wobbling as much. hehehehe. Sorry, I just wanted to be painfully honest. If you like a bit of pumping music & having a bit of a groove, you will love it! I also find the hour flies by.
BUN _ Any luck darl?
AFM _ I have had a very productive day. I booked tickets for a quick shopping trip to Beijing over Chinese New Year, I have enquired about Mandarin Lessons & I have viewed another 3 apartments. One apartment was totally rocking, great view, huge rooms, wonderful bathrooms but the colour scheme was sooooooooooooooo gawdy. Honestly it was. It was all gold & brown & it just didn't 'work' for me. Plus it didn't have an oven! grrrrr. So we see another 2 apartments on Sunday & then we will resume our search after Chinese New Year. The kids have just finished their 3rd week of school, only next week & then 2 weeks holidays for Chinese New Year. Everything is buzzing here already, everything has turned red as well, so I can only imagine the hype when it actually starts! It's quite exciting actually. The kids are learning Chinese songs & making lanterns & pretend crackers & cherry blossom artworks & all things like that. It's very pretty.
Michelle I'm pleased to hear you have some visitors over the weekend who are also available while you get that tooth checked out..See the needle thing is what scares the pants off me too :(
Anyway I'm sure I'll have to get it sorted in the next few days too especially since DH knows about it
Jayne..Hmmm you're a brave woman for mentioning that lol..See its just a bit early to be thinking along those lines for me me thinks..for what its worth I'm on cd24 of a cycle of anywhere between 28 and 35 days usually so tbh I'm not even wanting to think about that just yet ;) I'm actually leaning towards it being side effects of the medication I'm on but who knows.
:leap:Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! :leap:
I'm soooooo glad that you're back online with us. I have missed you so much! Wow, you have had so many changes happen! Going back to work is a HUGE one! I can only imagine how tired you am, I felt exactly the same, but before long you are going have found a really great balance between home & work & with DH being away, I think it might give you the 'escape' that us Mummies need sometimes. Wowsers to the Daycare & the Preschool!!!!!!! That's huge!!! Do they love it?
Do you think you can come to Sydney on July 15??? Pretty please *fluttering eyelashes especially for you*
I'm just chuffed you are 'back'. I really missed you. You rock. I love you. You're awesome. Ok, enough. lol
Love Jayne xx
Wow! You guys have all had a busy day...
I have people comment on the fact that Sam still has a dummy, and I know that's probably a big thing in him having a speech delay, but we're trying REALLY hard to limit it in day time and tend to sneak it away when he's not looking while he's eating. It's generally an out of sight out of mind thing with him, but I know he has some in secret stashes around the house. But Santa was apparently taking the dummies of two girls at church... and both still have their dummies now. One was sneaky and hid one and then got it out again, and one got so distressed that her mother relented. But they've come to a deal where it stays in the car and is only used at night. I ask Sam to leave his in the car and sometimes he does, other times he clamps down on it and shakes his head... I don't want to cause him stress by getting rid of it before he's really ready, but I just wish he'd get ready faster!
But... we have two new works in two days! Ball (complete with llllll sound at the end) and okay. :)
BW
BW - don't panic with the dummy. O is 3.5yrs now :) We had got rid of it during the day the week before Greg died (so he was just short of 3yo) but for obvious reasons it was a comfort for him that I wasn't going to deny. You either have to do it early or wait until you can "discuss" the dummy with them. He understands the removal of the dummy during the day but still isn't happy about it
Jayne: oh gee you know how to make a girl feel spesh *gush* I'm seriously considering July. There are a lot of contributing factors (like whether I take the boys or ask Mum and Dad to have them fir a few nights) and work but I'm really keen to try to get there. It's a good incentive to try to loose weight too.
Michelle:  FWIW you know me and needles, but I always think the needles at the dentist seem much worse then they are, close your eyes, take an iPod and then you'll distract at least two of the senses. Good luck babe.
Mako: sounds like it could be the meds messing with you. I hope it settles soon.
BW: I wouldn't worry too much about the dummy. Just keep encouraging him to only use it for sleeps and before long he'll get less reliant on it.
Spring
Hi lovelies...
Spring.... I'm so glad to see you back here too babe.... you've had so much going on it's a wonder you are still sane! Hon, you will loose the weight eventually.... it's so hard to focus on yourself when you are sleep deprived and not getting much of a break. I am loving the c25k program.... I just like that I have a 'routine' .. yep, I need to be told what to do and when to do it, but hey whatever gets my lard ars.e off the couch! I have lost 3kg in 3 weeks, to be honest, I'm watching more closely what I'm eating, but mostly I have just cut back 'a bit' on the crap (chocolate etc) but am not denying myself too much.... have greatly cut back on bread though, bread is a killer if you ask me. Happy for you to buddy up with Michelle and I, when you are ready. Although my intuition tells me until you are getting some decent sleep, there's no point pushing it babe xoxo
BW - My Remy still has a dummy, but mostly just for sleep - I have in mind to have it gone by the time she is 3 - she loves it so much, and it gets us all out of tight spots lol.... it will happen, don't stress too much yet.
Michelle - good luck at the dentist hon I hate dentists with a passion - they are vile and charge like wounded bulls but doing not much.. just my 2 bobs!
And girls, you can count me in for Sydney 15 July - can't wait!
Not too much to report here, have been coping ok.... can't help but feel the bubble is going to burst, not sure whats going on there, but am trying to temper that feeling. Loving the sunshine in Hobart at the moment, and generally chilling in the school hols has been good. Have picked up another regular massage client which is great, so I must be doing something right as she has booked in again for tomorrow, having only come 6 days ago! Nice to be popular lol!
Lisa - happy if you are happy hon, who know what will happen in the future? But for now, enjoy being a mum of 2!
Take care all, Flynn just got woken up by the big kids, oh joy.
Lee x
Thanks, girls. I know the dummy will eventually go. He won't be going to school with a dummy, and I'm sure if he does try it, it won't last long! I'm just a bit frustrated because I want him to talk more, and I know that won't really happen until we get rid of the dummy, but I don't want to stress him out with it all. It's taken two years, but we finally have a boy who can be put to bed at night and will fall asleep on his own... Never thought that would happen, but it did. I know, I know - in his own time.
Hope the dentist isn't too bad, Michelle. I went just recently as I thought I'd lost a filling. I felt about two inches tall when they asked if they had the right file as my last visit was in April 2005... and I had to admit that was correct - dental visits just weren't high on the list of priorities with IVF on the brain. Turned out it wasn't a filling I'd lost, just a seal, so it was replaced with NO NEEDLES! Yay!
BW
Hi all,
Sorry to vent to you all, but we are still having trouble settling back into Perth. Josh won't go to ANYONE, he won't even let anyone touch him, so we are not getting much of a break and I am so sick of living out of a suitcase and the kids being so unsettled. Thankfully we have FINALLY found a house, although it is far from ideal, and we can move in a week. We are close to family now, but I am finding that we are not getting a lot of help. Mum won't look after Josh because he just screams, and although DH is away atm, no one is offering to help out and we are on our own again. We may as well be in Warrnambool where we had a fantastic babysitter who was really good with Josh, and wonderful friends. I knew it would be hard to settle back in after two years away but atm I am finding myself feeling alone and sad. I am sure it will pass.
Michelle - I think of you a lot but right now with my DH away again, I find myself thinking of you constantly. I have no idea how you do it your own, and with THREE kids, not just two, and they are such happy, lovely children. You should be very proud of the wonderful job that you are doing. I am proud of you too!!
Bek - I feel for you soooo much hun. You give so much of yourself to your kids that after a few years, you forget yourself. I am finding myself having these feelings and I have only been a mum for almost three years, yet already I can't remember who I used to be. I am glad that you are making some changes to your life, and I love hearing you sound so enthusiastic about your new business venture.
Kel - so sorry we didn't get to catch up, I sooo wanted to see you. CK is still complaining of a tummy ache but doesn't seem to have gotten really sick thank goodness. She would only sleep with me last night and took ages to get off to sleep, but she is eating again today so I am hoping it was just a 24 hour thing. The last thing we all need right now is illness - the last few weeks have been awful trying to settle in and find somewhere to live. I can't believe how close your house is to ours!! I am not sure if you will know it, but the place we are renting is the white house on the corner on a big block with a hideous white statue out the front behind a big security gate. The house is interesting to say the least and is on three levels which will drive me crazy with Josh trying to climb and having stair gates everywhere, but at least it is big, a great location and they accepted our pets. Times like these make owning a border collie a little difficult!! I hope you have had a lovely trip and I look forward to seeing you next time!!
Jayne - how is the apartment hunting going? And I have been meaning to ask - where is Banjo??
Spring - great to hear from you! What is it with the early tantrums? Josh has started this too and I thought I had another year to go before the tantrums!! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment with work and the kids. I don't know how you manage it! I hope the iron and B12 helps
Hi to everyone else, sorry for a fly by post, but I am not in the best frame of mind. Will pop in later when I am feeling a little more positive.
Have a great weekend everyone,
Bun xx
It took me so long to enter that last posts that heaps more posts were made in the meantime! Jayne, best of luck with apartment hunting, I hope you find something perfect soon. And Michelle - good luck at the dentist! I hate dentists too.
Lee - good on you for getting a new massage client. If only I were closer, I would be booking you in all the time!
BW - FWIW, we have had similar dummy issues. After A LOT of effort, we finally have DD down to only having a dummy at night and if she wants to go to sleep in the car or pram, but it is still a constant battle. I am going to leave it a while longer before trying to get it off her at night, but right now I just don't have the strength! You are right in saying that it will be gone before school starts, so there is no need to worry, and at times that dummy is a godsend!! Good luck hun.
mako - I was wondering the same thing as Jayne but wasn't sure if I should say anything or not... got my fingers crossed for you!
MAKO _ So sorry darl, I wasn't sure if I should mention it, the last thing I wanted to do was upset you, but I had to be honest, when I read your post it was the first thing I thought of. I apologise..........
BUN _ Oh sweets, I'm so sorry to hear that you're not getting any help, I really am. What happens if your mum just persists with Josh? Is he 'outta sight, outta mind' with you? Or he just screams the ENTIRE time? I know that Claudia used to scream if somebody was trying to do things with her & I was there, but if I was gone, she would be fine? I'm surprised that your mum isn't being so helpful, I remember you raving about her to me! What a shame. Especially as now you have moved back, you're questioning why. That sucks! Well, you know that Josh LOVES me, so you can always come across to Qingdao & I'll happily send you off to Zara while I play with Josh & Catherine. lol I'm glad to hear that you have found a house, at least that stops you living out a suitcase & you can start being a family & getting back into a routine. Pity the house is a shocker, but it's a start! It's only upwards from here. Oh & Banjo is 'boarding' with my MIL. He was meant to go to my bestie's as she lives on a property, but a few weeks before we left, her Golden really laid into & bit another dog. Banjo being a pup wouldn't leave Max alone & I would have hated for that to happen to Banjo. So he's at my MIL's keeping her Lab company. He has fitted in beautifully & he gets a walk every morning & a swim in the afternoon. My MIL is so energetic so it's really worked famously. The only thing I found was that I was OTT with brushing him & his coat always looked fabulous (not being a snob, just keeping it real) & she isn't brushing him as much. I had to cut a few dready's out his coat over Christmas & I bought her a new slicker brush to try make things a bit simpler. I'm not overly fussed though, I can sort that out when we get him back. The main thing is he is loved & fed & kept busy. I have to admit, I do really pine for him. Banjo was such a big part of our lives. Claudia draws a picture of Banjo nearly every day at school & constantly asks. She even talks to him on Skype. He knew over Christmas who he belonged to though, we took him everywhere with us. I couldn't say goodbye to him the night we left again though. I know that sounds dumb, he's just a dog, but he's just MY dog....... Our cat Pokey will be a whole new story though. He is living at Alan's grandmothers house who is getting older every year & has certainly taken a big shine to him, I think it would be cruel to take him off a lovely old lady - but we'll see. Pokey really belonged to Jess, I bought him for her & she LOVES that cat, OMG she is as OTT with the cat as I am with Banjo. Whilst I love Pokey too, I'm not as crushed. lol
BW _ If the dummy is stressing you, I say get rid of it, if it's not that much of a big deal, let it stick around a bit longer. Michelle is SO on the money, you either take it off them when they can't ask for it or you wait until you can bargain with them. While Jess had a dummy, I took it off her when she was 12 months old, but she STILL has a cuddle-toy & she is 6. So you could really say that's a dummy of sorts. It's her security item. Same with Claudia - she never had a dummy but she has one of those pooh bear comforter things. A pooh bear attached to a lil blanket thing & that's her comfort, but she isn't as worried as Jess is. If you check FB I'm sure that majority of Jess' pictures, there is Piggy somewhere there. Usually tucked under her armpit. The whole family is attached to Piggy, my sister talks to Piggy on Skype! It's hilarious.
MICHELLE _ Is it too early to start counting the sleeps??????????
LEE - 3kg in 3 weeks? That's awesome! WTG! What a great achievement! I'm so jealous!!!! I am in a serious plateau - mentally & physcially. I just can't get back on that wagon. You are inspiring me though............ Oh & nice work for the kids waking up Flynn. Have I told you before how much I love the name Remy? I love it!
SPRING _ Of course you are spesh, you are so spesh to me. I luffs you so much! What do you mean 'am still' fat? You must have 'got' fat since Melbs because I didn't think you were fat. Yes, yes, I would be so excited to see you in Sydney in July.
BEK _ How's the training?
JANIE _ Where for art thou?
LISA _ How you feeling today Chook?
WILLOW _ You must be wading at the beach........... J E A L O U S.
DEB _ Thinking of you my love.
AFM - Well today hasn't been AS cold, so we went rollerskating down at Marina City. Then Zara has a fabulous sale on & I got 2 beautiful lil outfits for my new niece for Easter & the kids some skivvy type tops to wear under their uniform. Then off to Maccas for lunch which I am proud to say I didn't eat & then the kids were being so good I let them get a nail polish each. So guess I'm painting nails after rest time. Alan is at work all day today then a work dinner tonight, so we are just chilling at home. The girls need a traditional Chinese outfit to wear for their Chinese New Year Spring Festival Performance at school next Friday, so I might venture out again later to find something. Also have an appointment at 10 tomorrow morning to view more apartments, so wish me luck we find a beauty.
Love Jayne xx
The dummy stresses me... but I think removing it by force now would stress Sam even more. I can take it... for a bit longer at least!
Good luck with the house hunting, Jayne!
This is going to be scrambled because I am on the main comp with no privacy and Im too tired to read back through the posts (sorry!)
Jayne; I hope you have some luck with a new apartment soon.
Bun; Im sorry its been a bit difficult settling back into home. I found that myself with moving back to Sydney after being away so long.
BW; Im of the just-take-it-away kind of thinking when it comes to thinks like dummies etc so I took J and R's away when they were around 15mths old and the next baby was born. Thankfully S never took to the dummy so I didnt have to figure out what Id do without the 'new baby' line of thought. If you think he may want to hold onto it forever then maybe it would be better to just take it away and negate the stress for awhile (sort of like ripping off a bandaid), if you think with a bit more 'growing up' you can reason it away then I guess leave him be.
Lee; yay for a happy client!
Spring; so glad to see you back around the traps
AFM Im knackered from working all this week but thankfully no shifts til wednesday week (and Im a tad bit happy about that!). Dh goes back to work on monday and then will spent most of the next 2 months away. J goes back to preschool 3 days a week next week. Trying to get all this assessment stuff sorted out for R (I always mega stress when things involve $$$ *sigh*). I also need a dentist visit, I cracked a tooth while earlyish pregnant with S (half of it is completely missing), then the emergency stop gap came away when he was about 1 week old so they did another emergency stop gap til I could get in for a ridiculously expensive series of root canals then whatever they thought they might do to fix the actual tooth but obviously it never happened. Finally 2 years later the stop gap has worn away and its giving me grief. So now when my pay goes in the bank Im going to have to spend it on the dentist. They can just yank the bloody thing, its only a molar and I have all my wisdom teeth so I wont technically be missing any teeth. Dh says late this year I can get an implant put in if I really want too.
Im also silently freaking out about the deployment. Its creeping ever closer and Ive suddenly started to stress and worry and panic about all sorts of horrible things. We've still got so much to organise and no set in stone date to work by yet. Plus the next 2 months of him being away doing various things (and getting to go back to Townsville which sucks because I wanna go too :( ) Plus work and babysitting arrangements for work shifts; plus starting Uni. Plus itchy feet about getting our posting orders so I can plan ahead.......................
I'll end it there before I selfishly whinge anymore. Hopefully sometime this week I can get some more personals done.
Whoa, you gals have been busy!
Jayne - No beach today. And really it's not a beach, beach as such. It's a bay so sand but no waves which honestly, I prefer for the kids. Thanks for giving it to me straight about Zumba. I think I'll just give it a crack and see how I go? Everything else I'm coming up with doesn't work for some reason and I've already put on 2kg :( :( Also, hoping I make a friend or two?? A girl can hope.
Mako - Looking forward to our first catch up next week! Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down. You and I will make a great pair.
Lee - 3kg is great! I was getting all excited about giving c25k a go but then I remembered my PT sessions at the gym. Anything that involved running was painful. My PT thought it was because of my scarring and adhesions from my surgeries. Shocking stitches on my left side to the point I'd just have to stop. So, so frustrating. So I'm not sure it will be the answer for me. Hope that bubble doesn't burst.
Bun - Oh babe, I'm hearing you. Not exactly the same situation, but trying to settle in to a new house is hard on the kids and hard on Mummy! D has been HORRID and spends a LOT of time whinging at my feet or being carried around on my hip. It started about 2 weeks ago and is doing MY.HEAD.IN!!! I keep hoping it will pass as he becomes familiar and comfortable with his new surroundings, but no such luck. I went and got my hair done today and DH said he was fine the whole time. As soon as he sees me, it all starts again! I also have no one up here to mind the kids for me and today is really the first break I've had since before Christmas. And it was only 2 hours  The cracks are starting to show. I hope things settle for you soon and Josh is a lot happier for it. Maybe you could try to find another babysitter if that worked for you and your family aren't exactly tripping over themselves to help? I might have to resort to that too as DH starts shift work soon and I would like to have something that resembles a life! LOL Will see how we go.
Spring  You've been missed. I understand at least on the sleep deprivation level. I remember all too well what it was like those 10 months with L. D was so much better and we didn't have any major issues but as you know, he still didn't sleep through till after 12 months. Give the night weaning a go. It's what finally worked here and it really was not anywhere near as hard as I thought it would be. After two or three nights he started sleeping MUCH longer blocks and within a week he started sleeping through. Not every night like clockwork but within a few weeks it became more normal than not and now it is very rare for him to wake at night at all. I really wish I'd tried it earlier! I would love to see you in July, I think it's been about 2 years now?!
Michelle - Good luck with the dentist...am sure you've seen a LOT worse in your time  Glad you sorted out the babysitting help. I am constantly thinking of you and amazed by you
As for me...not so great today. Like I said, the kids have been full on and I haven't had a break for weeks and being here, I'm not likely to get one (man, that must sound pathetic to you Michelle, I am aware of that). BUT school starts back again soon and my big boy is starting preschool too! So we can all hold hands on their first days! LOL He was going to go two days but we just can't afford the fees (preschool places are very limited here and the fees are expensive) so he will start with one day and hopefully we'll build it to two in time. I was hoping to get him to the only proper 'preschool' here in town (which is a 5 min walk from our house) but they have very limited places, only 20 children a day for our whole area which is not a lot! So I put him on the waiting list as soon as DH was offered the job here but was told it's unlikely he'll get a spot. So he's at the big daycare centre which is about 15 min drive out of town. We've done a visit and he loved it so hopefully it will all be good. He is excited and asks every day if we are going to preschool! So on his preschool days I'll only have one at home - that's going to be very strange! But will give me a chance to run errands, probably do the shopping etc.
Am loving living here but as I said to DH last night - I feel like I've been on a holiday and having a great time but I'm ready to go home now. Except this is 'home' It's hard to explain. I guess I'm missing my friends (not that I had a lot left in Sydney) and familiar surroundings. I knew it would be a big adjustment and I know it will take a while to get settled in. I actually enjoy having the kids home during school holidays but now I'm looking forward to school going back so we can all get into our new routine and hopefully get out and about more and meet some people.
I have found a hairdresser though! I was over at the local shops and saw a salon that looked really cool, it's called Black Cat Hair and has sort of a retro 50s vibe about it. Right up my alley. The first time I went in I spoke to an older lady about getting a colour etc. I liked the feel of the place so I took the boys to get their hair cut there a few days later and there was a different hairdresser there, the owner of the salon. OMG, I have a new lady crush! She is uber funky, fire engine red hair, tattooed sleeves, cool in bucketloads! Her daughter was there and it was one of the little girls we'd been playing with on our preschool visit. She is cute as a button and she remembered us straight away. I was so excited and made an appt for myself for today. I was going to get her to do a funky new cut but decided to play it safe because I'm still undecided about the big chop. So just got a colour and a thick blonde foil put in underneath for a bit of fun. We're going to do it red or purple next time! So far, so good. She did a great job on the colour, so will go and get a trim in a few weeks time and see how I'm feeling about the big chop.
Anyway, have probably bored you with my ramblings but yanno, I'm a bit lonely and have no one to talk to! LOL
BW - Just re-read your post. Do you 'know' that Sam has a speech delay, as in you've had a professional assess him or you're just aware his speech isn't that of other littlies his age? I am positive D has a speech delay and am (slowly with the move etc) trying to organise to have his speech and most likely his hearing assessed. He failed his hearing screening at birth twice until they finally passed him third time around (only in one ear from memory, will have to check the paperwork again and see what that says), so it does play on my mind despite him appearing to hear us fine, being able to follow instructions, respond appropriately when we speak to him etc.
OOoh Willow - I'm loving the sound of your new do!!! I LOVE the big strip of blonde underneath as well! I have had that done before. Loved myself stupid with it. I was very excited to get a purple/black when I had my hair done at Christmas, but I'm not seeing much of the purple coming through....... & I exactly know that feeling of going home from a wonderful holiday, but it is home. I felt EXACTLY like that with moving to Qingdao & going home at Christmas, but rest assured, once I got back to what I thought was 'home' I did pine for Qingdao - so Sydney will be the same for you. You will go back there & think 'oh no, take me back to my NEW home'. Yeah, give Zumba a go, I would actually love to get some dvd's because I can only do the day classes & she runs some night ones, just so I can do some more at home. I find myself bopping away at home to some of the moves & songs on my ipod. lol. So I think the dvd is going to be next on my list of purchases.
FREYA _ Far out, you have a busy year ahead of you. I think you def need me on 15 July. I'm on order!!! lol. I'm so glad to hear about the results/progress you have made with R. Do you feel differently about him now? It sure sounds like it in your posts.
AFM _ I am watching the tennis. I think I might like to see Raffa Nadal naked.............. he can volley me all night long. bahahaha I LOVE tennis & I'm over the moon I can watch the Australian Open on Star Sports. Mmmmm Raffa............
Love Jayne xx
Willow, when he saw the paed at 18 months I was told his speech was delayed. I was also supposed to take him for a hearing assessment, but told to do that when he was well... by the time he was well, the referral had expired. His understanding is fine, but he just doesn't really talk back. We're still at the point of single words - he doesn't really string words together. I know of other kids his age where you can actually have a conversation with them, but not Sam. I can't even really get him to try to say words with me - he'll copy once, but if he doesn't get it right, it's like he refuses to have another go. Then there are the days where we get a lot of pointing and babbling and I start to think it's not a matter of him not talking, it's more that we just can't understand him yet!
I'm supposed to take him back to the paed now, but I need a new referral from the GP, and I'm just avoiding making the appointment.
BW
BW - the MCHN can refer you for a hearing screen and they often do them at the community health centre. O was booked for one there when we had a speech clarity issue in September / October. The community health centre also has speech as well is you want to get it checked. Don't let the dummy stress you. Just remove it through the day and give it back when he is tired / ready for a nap. It is really only a day or two of unhappiness until they move on. O was not a happy man yesterday, wanted the dummy when Mummy jammed his hand in the car door  (bad day here) but didn't fuss too much and actually had a sleep today without it. He got it back tonight as he went up to bed.
Willow - I don't think anything of the sort. Little people ARE hard work and you do need a break and some me time. My bundle of beans 3yo is doing my head in. "Are you listening" "No, Mummy. I don't like to listen" :wall: BUT - they go to bed on their own now, at a decent hour, without too many issues most of the time. I am very proud of them and I think O and L going to bed together has been the key to success. Now if we can get G to sleep for more than 2 hours at a time we will be doing well. Although I can't complain. He has started doing a solid couple of hours in the afternoon (anywhere from 1-2.5hrs) so if the others overlap I can sneak a nanna nap if I need one. Or just enjoy the quiet to re-charge for the evening chaos.
Freya - please explain your ticker ..................... before I stalk you via SMS ;)
Jayne - I was cleaning the kitchen when you skyped :D But I was watching the tennis. Is it too early to start counting down the days - NOPE!!!!! Count away chicky.
Spring - come and join Lee and I on the c25k (you too Willow). Just be sensible and get a pair of RUNNING shoes before you start. Unlike me who is currently banned from running until my knee stops hurting. And I am annoyed!!!! It is actually really good and (relatively) easy. It hurts. You work hard. But it is only 30 minutes and you only run for 1 minute at a time (in week 1). The endorphins are great!!!! I lost 1.1kg in the first week but I have refused to weigh myself since I stopped the program in case it discourages me and I chuck it all in.
Bun - so pleased you have finally got somewhere to live
Well, it is after pumpkin o'clock and all is well. Three little people are sleeping and I am off to bed to join them. Until G wakes up. Little bed hog that he is!! Getting released from his safe sleeper prison means he can chase me across the bed to make sure boobie is not too far away. I spend half the night moving him back towards O on Greg's side. Small complaints because it really is quite sweet.
I have been having a rough few days but my little ones are perceptive little beans and I have received random hugs, kisses and I love you Mumma from both of the big ones. And the bubba - his smile melts my heart and lights my world :) My final gift is such a blessing and such a beautiful little boy with a very cheeky streak. I like that.
What ticker Michelle? My 365 photo project? Its not pregnancy related if thats what your asking. If your referring to the names of the moment; nothing to see there either.............yet............maybe someday ;)
I actually started the c25k program and can almost run 5k before I started (it almost kills me though). The issue is it so bloody hot here I cam only do it after dark and then have to have a friend to do it with me. Excuses I know. I think I need a treadmill.
Michelle - Sorry, that was badly worded! What I should have said was I am aware that there are others out there like your amazing self, who are doing it a lot tougher than I am. WOOOOOOOT!! on the sleep success! Sounds like things are going really well atm, I'm so happy for you!
Spring - Not excuses, just reality. You wouldn't find me running in Townsville during the day either! Treadmill might be the way to go. I'd love one too and definitely have the room for one now, but not the cash unfortunately.
BW/Michelle - Thanks for the info re speech/hearing. First thing I need to do is try and find a GP here. I am DREADING it. I will take both boys for a check up and get a referral to the paed I am hoping to see (Mako recommended him ;)) and go from there. I will also try and suss out the community nurse situation. I never went in Sydney with either of the boys because we had a great GP and paed and between the two we were pretty covered. But I think being here and the medical system being what it is, it might come in handy. Although I'm sure they too will be pretty busy. I am assuming there will be one at DDs school and I think I remember seeing the office when we did our visit. I am pretty sure they will confirm his speech is delayed, so I guess it's just a matter of having his hearing checked to rule that out and seeing if there's anything we can do to help him along. I'm hoping a speechie won't be needed because the waiting lists in Sydney were horrendous, I don't even want to think about what they'd be like up here.
Jayne - Ooh, black/purple sounds awesome! This is actually the darkest I've had my hair I think but I only get demi colours that slowly wash and fade out rather than permanent colour, so I'm assumign a lot of it will wash out today when I wash it (yeah, still in my jammies!)
I'd better get going. DH has taken L fishing in the boat for the first time this morning and Mama is nervous! I know DH will be super careful with him in the boat and he obviously has a life vest etc but still. I worry, can't help it. I didn't let DD go in the boat till she was 4, so this is a stretch for me. But he cries every time DH goes that he wants to go with Daddy and being where we are now, I don't think it's fair that he misses out every weekend (yes, my DH goes fishing every weekend *sigh*).
I'd be nervous too Willow but I'm sure that your DH will be super dooper careful. I bet they have a great time. You're right about it being bloody hot here. I did the mowing yesterday and my entire bra was a different colour because I was drenched in sweat. Doesn't help that I did it at 3pm. I flipped DH for it because being out in the sun mowing was so much better than being cooped up in here with a vomiting toddler and stir crazy baby.
Michelle
Well after my near break down over B's sleep you wouldn't believe it, on Friday night he did the best he ever has 6.30pm - 4.44am. I was sure it was either a fluke or that he was brewing the same evil bug O has. Well low and behold last night ... wait for it.... 6.30pm - 5.30am :cheer: I can hardly believe it. This is my child who still was feeding 3 hourly (sometimes even more often) overnight. I should have known to trust the magic 12 month mark. Now I hope I haven't jinxed myself.
oh and a Sydney update. I mentioned to Mum and Dad that I might want to go and they've offerred to take the boys for two nights. So hmmmm, that makes it so much easier. Hmmmm I might go and take a squizz at flights.
Spring
SPRING!!!! OMG I am soooooooo excited for you!! That is awesome, way to go B!!!
Keeping my fingers crossed that he keeps it up. Don't be too disheartened if he is a bit inconsistent at first, took D a few weeks to get to the point where he did it every night.
And now I'm getting really excited about July!!!
I was going to the other BB Sydney meet up but recent events have changed my mind I think... Haven't yet cancelled the room (only because I'd really, really love to meet Sushee so I'm still thinking about it) but most likely will not go and I'd much rather hang out with you guys!
Jayne There is absolutely no need to apolagise hun..You didn't say anything wrong ;)
Spring WOOHOO on Mr B sleeping so well for you for the past few nights..Goes to show you that your little guy can do it and just wants to do it in his own time ;)
I hope Mr O is feeling better too. I saw your FB status about him being unwell and that doesn't sound like much fun at all
Bun..Congratulations on finding a house to move into..I bet you are sighing with relief now and can't wait to move in so you can start to get settled in. I'm hearing you on the lack of support and not getting a break at all too
Willow How did DS1 enjoy his fishing trip with daddy?
As for us..Sage is good, DH is feeling a bit better with each passing day and I'm ok..Still feeling BLAH but know that AF is on her way sometime in the next few days..neg poas confirmed what I "knew" but am ok about that for now..I have a funeral to attend tomorrow..and Bun..here's where I'm understanding not having any help around atm..My mum "can't" or "won't" look after Sage for me while I go to say goodbye to my friend as she doesn't WANT to GRRRR. Jas's mum is in Sydney for a few days so I have had to ask my next door neighbour to watch him for a couple of hours..I'm furious with my mum about it but once again shouldn't be surprised...She doesn't work or anything like that so its not like it would be too difficult to come and spend some time with her grandson..Anyway that's my rant over and done with.
Sorry for no more personals for now but I will come back in the next few days to catch up with you all :)
Mako - that sucks :( I am similarly annoyed with my sister who I asked if she wanted to come down to watch the monkeys while I go to a Nick Cave / Grindermen concert on Friday. I was going to fly her down. She said she would if I couldn't get anyone else. Of course that translates to I don't really want to because she is busy / the kids have swimming / probably some farm thing etc etc etc. Just say so. Don't fluff around. But goodness. I don't ask for much but even then it is like pulling teeth. My gorgeous BIL and SIL are watching them instead.
Dentist trip today - yay!!! No cavity. Just an overenthusiastic brusher  so now I have to use a kiddies toothbrush and old lady toothpaste  IL's were here to watch the little ones (bless them) and the whole family came over for dinner last night which was beautiful. I miss those dinners as a family unit. And the boys (Greg's brothers) cleaned the kitchen Greg style so the kitchen bench sparkles thanks to a good dose of windex :) I now have to find my kitchen (and the breastpump is somewhere .......) but it was lovely to have it all done for me. It is making me cry today because there is so much I miss and as my MIL said last night - it takes two of them to make one of him :(
BBL - all the little ones are sleeping / resting so I am going to join them for a power nap!!
Michelle - Your family dinner sounds so lovely, what a beautiful thing for the boys to do for you. Glad your dentist appt went well - take it easy on those pegs lady! rofl
Mako - You know I would have loved to have watched Sage tomorrow. But also get that it's a lot easier for you to drop him next door than to come all the way out here! I'm so sorry about your mum. I just don't know what to say about that anymore, it's just not right :( If it were me, I'd be very inclined to not let her have him at all. It's not fair on Sage though I guess, but neither is it fair that she will only help out and spend time with him when it suits her. Glad to hear DH is feeling better too. L loved his fishing trip in the boat and all came home safe and unharmed! LOL DH getting VERY frustrated by the fishing up here, he hasn't caught anything decent since we got here! Very unusual for him, he always comes home with fish and it's driving him nuts!
Took the kids to DDs new school this morning so we could get her uniforms at the P&C uniform shop (and Mako, despite this being the first day they are open to sell uniforms, they were sold out of her size skorts....grrrrr. Have I told you how much I hate skorts?? Will try and get them at Kotara on Thurs). Met her year group supervisor thingo (forget what they called her) who seemed very nice and helpful. She's from Sydney too originally and has a friend that teaches at DDs old school. Getting very nervous about her starting her new school next week and DS1 starting preschool. Was talking to this same lady about the preschool situation who told me to keep him on the waiting list at the local preschool because it is a great little preschool and a lot cheaper (so he could do two days), not to mention its 5 mins walk away. So will look at changing him over if the opportunity arises, I had previously thought I wouldn't but it would just work out better in so many ways and I think he would adapt quickly with a change (I hope!). I wouldn't expect it to happen anytime soon anyway because he was at the end of the waiting list. I think I saw on the sign out the front the other day that they start there from 2 so might put D on the waiting list around his bday this year (wouldn't want him to start till he was closer to 3 though).
Better go, have friends from Sydney visiting some time in the next few days (they are also moving up here as soon as they land work) so I need to tidy this place up a bit after a busy weekend.
WILLOW _ Your post about your DH & fishing would be music to Alan's ears. That man is built with gills behind his ears. He loves anythign to do with the water - particularly fishing & diving. Shame we live poles apart! I could picture a very happy fishing buddy program happening!!! The school for Miss V sounds great & also the new opportunity for the preschool for Mr L. No hassle keeping him on both wait-lists & seeing what comes up first. Is Miss V excited to go to a new school? The new girls in school is ALWAYS the coolest with the most amount of friends!!! Jess still has 'new school' syndrome as she is newest in her class. Claudia has lost that shine already as she has a new boy in her class. lol
MAKO _ I'm so glad I didn't offend! I was horribly worried I had upset you. So glad!!! Lets hope that AF ISN"T on her way & that the POAS was just taken too early!!!
BW _ What's the latest on the DH situation? Any improvements being made?
MICHELLE _ Your family dinner sounds awesome, I'm so glad you don't have to have dental work either. & I'm sorry, but I'm PMSL laughing at the thought of the brothers cleaning your kitchen & both of them passing the breast pump between each other trying to figure out what 'appliance' it is. I'm sure they knew, but still, would have liked to be a fly on the wall!!!! & I'm SUPER PROUD that the two big people are putting themselves to bed!!! What a fantastic achievement!
I'm so sorry, I have to run, I didn't realise how late it was. I need to get dinner on the go. I really fancy brocolli cheese tonight, so I best get that happening.
But one last thing.............. I'm now a student!!!!!!!! I start classes on 14 Feb & I'm learning Chinese!!! I'm very excited, but awfully scared all at the same time. Chinese is so hard & the text book they gave me is in Chinese - WTF!!! Stupidly, I thought it was going to be in English. bahahaha
Love Jayne xx
Slow and steady improvement on the DH situation. I had a chat to the pastor about it all, and we have put some plans in place. The call has been put out in church to get others to help... not exactly overwhelmed with people offering assistance, but rumour has it that there's two people recently moved across from another church who did sound there - I'm just hoping and praying that they can be convinced to do it here as well. For the last few weeks the evening service hasn't been moving to the other room, so I've been able to go in the evenings and let Sam run around a bit and that's been great. The creche roster still isn't up and running for the year yet (when school goes back, so either this weekend or next), but some lovely friends booted me out on Sunday morning and took care of Sam. DH himself is chasing up these guys he's heard of that know how to run a sound desk and appears to have finally fixed the item of equipment that is needed to get clear sound into the creche during the service. So it's all coming together.
And my poor little man is in so much pain from teething that even sucking on his dummy hurts him. :( Not easy to get him to calm down ready for sleep when he's always used the dummy for it before... but could be a good opportunity to try to get him to sleep without it. Amazing how things work out some times. :)
BW
Wow... you've all been very chatty in here!!! I'm having trouble keeping up, so will make this a quick one!!
We're back from Perth and feeling a little sad. It was such a great visit... we were extremely social but man, it was exhausting!! We were out most nights and busy during the days. I need a holiday just to recover - LOL! It was just so wonderful to see everyone though and introduce them to our new little man. Both boys were amazing on the plane too.. I'm so proud of them! Yesterday was not a good day though.. to be expected I guess.. we didn't get home until 11pm, so we were all tired yesterday and I had no patience for Luke.. he was being so naughty. Anyway, hopefully today will be better. I'm pretty happy with Campbell though, he slept last night from 8.30pm to 4.30am... amazing!! I'm praying it continues. Luke was up at 5am though but it was nice to finally get some cuddles in bed with him.. he doesn't come into my bed much anymore! I just need to learn to go to bed a bit earlier and get some good sleep!!
Well.. better be off.. have sooooo much washing and cleaning up to do. My SIL arrives today too with her little boy (who's the same age as Luke).. so I'm sure the next three days while they're here will be crazy!
Bun - OMG.. I can't believe you've got a place just up the road from us. Our place is on the corner of Preston Point Rd and Moreing Rd... the one with the big red brick wall around it (and entry via Moreing Rd). Our tenants are moving out at the end of Feb.. so we've just appointed an agent to start looking for someone.. scary!
