Cold is one word for it! I'm sitting here snuggled in a quilt because Sam is asleep and under heaps of blankets and I just can't justify the air con for just me. When Sam wakes up it will probably go back on, though.
For those with TT difficulties - my nephew was almost 4 before things finally clicked for him, it does seem to take a lot longer for boys - but I'm taking notes for when our time comes!
Looks like things in this thread could be getting quiet for a bit. Glad to know I'll still be able to keep up with FB!

Still here. Still with intermittent pain. Last night was horrendous and took ages to settle. Tired and missing my little ones soooooo much. They have just gone for a walk with my parents because it is so boring for them.
Would love to go home but need too much pain relief and there is still brown discharge. Hoping to sort out some acupuncture for this pm otherwise I will moxa again. Just make up your mind little one !!!!!

Oh Michelle, you must be so frustrated :hug: It's very hard when the kiddies get so bored in hospital. I know it's a pitiful idea, but do you have a portable DVD player with stuff to watch? Those nights before I had D when I barely slept at all (thanks Celestone!) were saved by watching DVDs. It at least killed off a few hours. Here's hoping it won't be long til you're home my love :hug:
Freya, I'm sorry you won't be getting spoiled this weekend. It's so hard when you're a mum, you really look forward to things like birthdays, something a bit different to brighten your day. So to not really be able to celebrate is hard :hug:. I hope that when the $$$ comes in you can really go for it, and make up for what you don't get this weekend! And like Mako said, there is no problem too small, we're here for you. Gawd, here's me crapping on about TTing for goodness sake!!!
BW, I'm jealous!!! Day sleeps are few and far between for DS1 these days, he really seems not to need one most of the time. Good news is he functions quite well without it, bad news is I don't get any peace and quiet time :) DS2 is usually unsettled after DS1 goes to bed at night, so there really is no rest for the wicked ;) Hope you enjoyed your cuppa.

Kelly, thanks so much for the chat today. I mean it, your text really came at the right time for me. Oh, and not long after we hung up, I decided I'd better really encourage a visit to the toilet, as it had been awhile! I even bribed with the C word again LOL, all to no avail he cried that he didn't want to go to the toilet, he wanted a nappy. So I let him run off, no undies or pants on (crazy kid, in this weather!) and DH rang. So I was telling him all about it, and he was questioning whether DS was really ready, when his phone died. Next thing, I've got D screaming cos he needs to be put to sleep, and N trying to tell me something that I couldn't hear over D's noise, but I could tell it was something about the toilet. I finally get D wrapped and find his dummy so I can hear N, who tells me "your were right mummy, I did need to go to the toilet. I almost weed on the floor in my room, but I'll go to the toilet now". And away he went, hopped on and did a wee! Just like you said, up and down! And we were all so excited and happy LOL. So thanks again, I feel much better.

Michelle - Ahhhhhhhhh, I'm feeling it with you hon - I've only had 2 days in hossie on rest (blood pressure issues) pre-birth, and was able to be induced - it was utterly frustrating even with that scenario - you must be doubly so. Wish I could offer some advice, but all I can say is make the most of it, the fact that your mum and dad are taking care of the little ones, and you have meals delivered to you in bed ;) as I can't imagine this scenario rolling around again in a big hurry iykwim..... and also hon, I can only imagine how painful and bl--dy difficult this time must be without your man fully by your side - someone to share every detail in the journey with you - I'm not forgetting how heavy your heart must be.
Tell you what girls - I'm still amazed at how things 'come back to bite you' - just thismorning I took little Remy to playgroup and there was a new mum there - she had just moved down from the NT, and to cut a long story stort, she knew the key players in my DH1's working life etc, but she was in fact from the 'bad' side of the fence, i.e. the basta--ds that did not help me after the accident (mining company) - I did not tell her who I was, and if she had asked, I would have told her I'm not in the mood for talking about that chapter of my life......... but at the end of the day it just made me feel sick, am still getting over that 'two world collide' thing again - moving all the way to Hobart, and still it comes up... I know it always will. Sorry Michelle if this is depressing, just wanted to share - I don't think you will have the issues of trauma and compensation that I had (I hope) - DH1's death was 'complicated' in that 4 men died, at work, in a remote area - compensation was forthcoming, but legally draining etc etc......

Freya - completely understand hon - you are just going to have to spoil yourself babe - little things, hot bath etc..... eventually when your boys are a bit older they will take care of their mum's needs - my big kids often surprise me when I least expect it - and it can turn a crap day right around. You never know, you might be surprised, I hope so, as you more than deserve it xoxo

maybe i spoke too soon :( blood tests all came back normal and bub is a nice size ....but today at high risk ultrasound the tech told me that there are "some" soft markers. I had to get irate to even get that explanation for the repeated measurements. She was measuring the nuchal fold a bunch...i didn't see the exact size but looked like it was close to 7mm. Waiting for the doctor to call

Girls I have a question for those for you who had been on Clomid. Did anyone get really bad pain on one side of lower abdomen around cd 19 or 20? If you did do you remember what it was that caused it?
I have this awful pain in my left side as of yesterday and its so so sore. I can't go and get checked out as I have to go back to work soon and I can't get into my Dr in my break tomorrow and they finish before I get home from work on Friday :( I've taken panadol but it hasn't helped at all. Not too sure if its a cyst or what but it certainly feels similar to my last one I had from memory.
I can't take time off from work this week as I'm filling in for someone as it is..Why does my body do stupid things like this when its so inconvenient?

I could be wrong but I think my FS told me when taking clomid that pockets of fluid can form near the ovaries because of the increased hormones and usually extra eggs your producing? Otherwise Id prob put my money on a cyst. I had exactly what your describing with my clomid round and it ended up being a cyst. Hope it settles for you soon!
Laney I am sorry you have been given a fright. :comfort: I can assure you that nuchal fold measurements are not markers at this gestation. I hope you get some insight darling. :hug:
Sam is now on his 4th bug in 6 weeks. He's having a rough winter, poor little man! Another round of tonsilitis, which the GP is sure is viral (lovely viral rash came up while we were waiting), but apparently his lovely chesty cough scores him a round of antibiotics. Now... how the hell do I get him to take them?! He opens his mouth for panadol and nurofen as soon as he even sees the box, so I've never had to deal with this before. 6mL three times per day and the first dose was pretty much spat entirely down his front. I just don't know if I can do this - I can tell it's going to be traumatic for all of us!
Michelle, this probably means my Friday visit is out. Sam's still fairly happy, but subdued for him. Means I get lots of snuggles and he's not running around like a mad thing - I just don't think they'll take him at day care with the antibiotics going and don't think dragging him through a hospital and near heavily pregnant women is a good plan. :(
Mako, sounds a lot like a cyst to me. I had one with my first IVF cycle, not fun. But I also had similar pain when my first ovulation after that was induced. Apparently my ovaries were still quite tender from being hyperstimulated so ovulating HURT! I suspect in your case the cyst is more likely, unfortunately.

Mako - ovulation pain / cyst is possible. I had lots of pain on one side or another on clomid.
BW - sometimes you need to be a little bit mean with giving antibiotics. Or use the nurofen doser if that helps!!

Oh matey, let it all out if you need to, cry if it helps. You are hanging in there amazingly well. I wish George would do one or the other, but he's evidently got his own little plan ;). Maybe he knows it's just a tad early for him to be arriving. So wish you weren't having pain though :(
Complete agony tonight. Sooooo painful. Drugged to the eyeballs with more to come. TENS machine pulsing away at levels that should electrocute an elephant. Crying makes the pain worse. Just over it all.
Good news is the bum is heading north so I hope there is a purpose for all of this.
Michelle: Millions and millions of warm cuddles coming your way woman. Your body is doing an amazing job of preparing you for labour and your sweet little man is doing his best to turn. I just hope and pray the pain subsides soon :comfort: I'm cheering you on from afar.
BW: I agree, we have to wrangle O sometimes to get the medicine in. He is much better now (that we can bribe him ;)) but when he was younger I honestly had to wedge him between my legs, pry his mouth open and squirt. If Sam has a dummy you can always put it in as soon as the medicine in to encourage him to swallow. Good luck.
Mako: Sorry baby I've got no experience with clomid but I hope whatever it is you feel better soon.
Janie: Good luck with the TT hun. I think there is very little us mum's can do to speed up the process. Just keep doing as you are, reminding him often and encouraging him.
Layney: Oh babe, I'm sorry you've had a terrible fright. Soft markers pft. What a way to make you worry abour potentially nothing. I hope it's cleared up soon babe and you get some good news. :hug:

Well it's been kinda crazy here. DH's knee op was a few weeks ago now and he is still under Dr's orders to do pretty much nothing coupled with the fact that O is going through a real daddy stage it's been interesting to say the least but we're getting there and I know that I'm lucky in a lot of ways. I'm just feeling flat I guess. B is waking 3 hourly and considering he is almost 6 months I really just hoped that it would be at least 4 hours by now. Alas, I'm a walking zombie some days but I know many of you are the same.
I've falled off the wagon in the last few weeks with the weight loss so I'm back into it next week. Other than that it's pretty much same old same old. I'm trying to get DH to confirm his holidays so we can plan an trip to Melbourne and hopefully TAS for chrissy so as soon as I know I'll make sure I let you ladies down that way know.

Michelle - been thinking of you constantly - oh hon you must be completely over it ..... you don't need any more prolonged pain - clearly little George is working his way out - hopefully tomorrow, 1st July sounds like a good birthday to me, beginning of a new financial year ;) Have you spent much of the time alone, or have you had people around you, someone that can rub your back, or wipe your tears dear lady :( I pray to the gods that be that little George arrives safe and well soon, there's only so much pre-labour a woman should have to endure. Hi guys, sorry I haven't been in for so long. First we only had a really slow internet connection so I couldn't post anything, and then the kids wouldn't give me enough of a break to post anything! DH left on Friday so we are on our own now. We are doing ok, I am feeling a little down tonight for no real reason, but we have been keeping busy. I am sooo tired though - both kids are playing up at night. We went to this HUGE kids festival they put on here yesterday and DD had the time of her life! She partied hard for 7 hours without a break and I am feeling shattered from it! I thought she may actually sleep through last night after such a busy day, but alas, no. DS has also started waking more at night so I am up a minimum of 4 times per night and I have over another 2 weeks til DH gets back. Sigh.
Michelle - I am so so sorry I haven't posted after you were admitted to hospital. I have been thinking of you and following your updates when I can and I am so sorry to hear how much pain you are in. It sounds like torture, you poor thing. I hope little Omar makes his mind up soon and either decides to stay put or come out!
Kelly - looks like you guys had a fab time in the snow. Great to see you making the most of your time over here! We really need to start doing that too and seeing a little more of Victoria while we are here. And I would love to see the snow too - so exciting for a West Australian!!

I don't think I have ever seen such healthy hair! I think you are doing the right thing re TT - as you said to me, sometimes we need to get tough to make these kids of ours listen!! I am anticipating the same thing happening with DD - she was doing great with TT a little while ago and now won't go at all. I also thought it best to not push it and to just wait til she is ready but part of me is pretty sure that it is going to take a pretty big shove to finally get her on the TT bandwagon! How has he gone today?
