Oh guys.. thanks so much for all your lovely words and support. I would never have even been able to get this far without you all and can't ever thank you enough. We've just got home from hospital and I'm doing ok. I had the worst night ever... had a lot of pain and far too much blood for my liking.. it was horrible. I haven't had to experience the bleeding before and my god.. it just made everything even worse.. I can't even describe how I've been feeling.
Anyway, thankfully I'm with my family and they're amazing. Time to lie on the couch and let them look after me for once. DS has been sooo gorgeous too.. he knows somethings wrong and keeps asking me if I'm ok. I've never had so many kisses and cuddles from him!
Bun - I'm desperately waiting to hear your exiting news too... it's such a miracle when a gorgeous little bundle arrives into the world and I couldn't be happier for you today... it's certainly going to cheer me up.. so will make sure I pop back in to check soon!!

I was wondering if you or anyone you know has had two babies with incompetent cervix? And if so, what is the recommended wait time? I know I sound crazy but I just had my first baby (after two losses, 14w & 23w). I would love to go again within twelve months or so but fear its too soon. We lost two years trying for our first and my husband is getting older and I would love to have our second/last child sooner rather than later. However, not at the risk of hightening our chances of another loss...
With Jay (my little boy) I was hospitalised for 5 weeks and the membranes had bulged down to the stitch with 1cm closed below it. Was very lucky! Mind you, the stitch went in at 17 weeks and this time my ob will put it in at 13...
Guess I should ask him really hey? I just feel like an idion coz we only just had our little boy 3 monts ago :P
Anyhow, would love to hear form anyone who's been there.

Oh Kelly, I was so sad for you & Ryann to hear this news this morning. If there is ANYTHING at all I can do, you just need to give me a call (I can literally help cos you're in WA! YAY!). So please, please, please, just give me a call, even if it's just to have a chat. I'm so sorry that this has happened, it must have been heartbreaking for you to go through this again, everything looked so good, I hate that it's ended badly. I'm so sorry again.
BUN _ YES! You need to fill us up with some very happy news. An arrival of a beautiful newborn would just be what we all need!
So gonna fill us in on your trip to China Jayne?? OR have you already and Im just a total nut brain and forgot. How exciting, will be an awesome experience for the girls.

Jos - I didnt have incompetent cervix as such but I had pre term labour complications and very early dialation with my second son, but went on to have zero issues with my third. From your history though Id say your chances of IC is higher but if you really want another baby and your OB is on board then I would discuss with him what plan of action you can put in place and then make your final decision! We've all here been faced with similar choices (relating to miscarriage) about whether or not to TTC again so we all know the feeling and hard choice to make :hug:
Speaking of TTC, my cluckiness has reared its head........Ive been super lucky to have had it last til now considering by the time both the older boys were 9mths I was 2nd trimester pregnant with the next one. Definately no babies in our future for atleast 18mths from now; maybe not ever if DH has his way. I just feel a bit lost right now, Ive practically always been the one pregnant or with a newborn..............its like Ive lost my identity :lol:
Oh and its cool to open up the local newspaper and see a familiar face Michelle ;)
Hi Jos - welcome to this little corner of insanity. I have no experience with cervix incompetence and waiting times between pregnancies. Hopefully someone will be able to give you some more information.

Can I be scared :( I hate scans and mine is tomorrow. I am trying to think positively but it is so hard. It is cloudy (which is nice) and I am going to light my candles but it is making my head hurt ........
ETA - Oh God Anna!! Is it :redface: That was done before Christmas. Maybe I need to get a copy of the local paper when I go to work?!?
You can be scared darling. :comfort: But you will get through this - just like all the others. My candle will be lit for you. My hand will be holding yours & prayers and positivity sent out to the Universe.
This has been a hard time for those that have said goodbye lately - & also for those that are still pregnant. Just know your story is yours & it's different. We are all praying, yodelling, visualising a beautiful heartbeat and great measurements. Big cuddles darling... :hug:
Thanks Deb - I am sitting here sobbing and dripping on the computer :( You always know what I need :hug: I feel guilty (I know I shouldn't but why do I deserve this??? they do too!!!!) and sad and excited all rolled into one. It is just the usual rollercoaster but the ride never seems to get any easier.
If anything I think it gets harder. As if we have only so much good luck & then whammo. Of course it doesn't work like that. But it's hard to remember that when the anxiety levels are so hard.
What time tomorrow is your appt? As you all know I have no iphone (Miss Immy has a mean pitch) & all my numbers are on my computer & so they don't come up on my phone... (I have a crappy little Nokia from the bottom drawer and I can't send texts on it with any type of speed... :redface:)
But if you feel inspired to - I would love to hear from you when you get through your u/s... :hug:
Michelle; I am not far away either if for any reason you feel like company! Is Dh going in with you? I can remember very well feeling sick to my stomach everytime I had to have an ultrasound. Even when I knew the likelihood was good that everything would be fine. The fear never ever leaves you after a loss. I will be thinking of you tomorrow but I am going to be positive and say bub will be happily chugging around in there.............hopefully it might be a flasher too so we can take bets on what s/he might be! :hug:
If you cant get your hands on a paper Ive still got mine! Ryan read it too and gave me a 1/2hr speech about how they can fix the problem (I think it involved leaving them wait on a stupidity time out but I explained that while its a novel idea nurses have a duty of care that doesnt have a numpty exception lol) I dont know how you work ED and stay sane, from what Ive seen while I was there (prob on slow days!) Id be in need of a padded cell in no time. No wonder your SuperNurse :)

I got excited when i seen that Mako has posted i thought ooooh Bun's had the baby and then read Mako's post only to realise there wasnt any news on Bun gosh i feel like a dill :lol:
It'll be okay girls - induction can take SO long, especially if Bun has been allowed to go into labour herself. But I feel for you Bun, as I think you have had a long day, and it so tiring. By 9pm I told my Ob I was going on the drip, he was happy to let me keep going, but I couldn't keep my eyes open. Hang in the Bun, I'm sure not long to go!!! Thinking of you and sending you good strong pushing vibes !!!

"Healthy baby boy born after a very difficult labour but all is ok now! Will send more details tomorrow. No name as yet!"

Quickly from me.......I got a bit worried this morning. I woke at 5am (care of DS ;)) but couldn't go back to sleep. Kept having these BHs that would last for aaaaages, every 5 minutes. So I got up and did some stuff, and they slowed down. DS called out at 6.30 so I jumped back into bed with him, and dozed off, but I kept having pains :o (like period pains) that would kind of wake me. But I was only half awake and then I would doze off again, but it kept happening. Now I just feel kind of sore, if that makes sense, like after the period pains die down. When I was bed I was thinking that I would ring my Ob for sure, but now I'm not so bothered. Should I be???? I'm seeing him tomorrow morning anyway, but maybe I should check with him today? Hmmmm, I know what I would say if it was someone else asking :lol:
Janie - ring the OB woman, just to put your mind at ease. Ive been having a fair few BH's and last night i was keeled over on the couch with a stich like pain in the right side! OB assured me the other day its all going well, and its quite normal to have lots of BH's around this time. Unless they dont stop then Id be worried, but worth a call to your OB anyways. And its probably a rest thing too, bet that your not getting enough and running around after a tot sure doesnt help. Let us know how you go...

Yeah Janie 3rd tri. It goes quick doesn't it? Re BH I had these a lot to the point that I had to breath through some. I was told that if the pain goes away then it is just BH. For me moving made them stop and resting made them worse. Needless to say I moved a lot in my last tri with all my pregnancies. On the other hand given that you've gone into labour early with your DS maby call your OB for reassurance. HTH
Grocery shopping was a bust. Aldi didn't have any baby trollies:wall: Oh well I have to go some other time

Janine: I'm going to tell you what you've already told yourself babe, call the stinkin Ob woman. I'm sure it's nothing to be worried about but it is so much better just to check and get the all clear. If it makes you feel any better from about 30 weeks this time I was having BH strong every time I did anything, even going for a walk with O. Hope you are feeling better today.

Well we are doing pretty well. B continues to be a flexed out little lad who is even having a stretch of 4-5 hours at night. I can hardly believe it because O was 6 months before he even went a good solid 3 hours. DH has taken O out to do some boy jobs (go to Supercheap etc) so I'm sitting here with a snoozing bub in my HAB (thanks Bek) and catching up on BB. It's amazing what a few solid hours sleep at night can do to make you feel refreshed. I'm getting more sleep with a newborn then I was getting when heavily preggas.

ETA: We have a name. I just read in Bun's BA thread her little boy is named Joshua Harrison 7lb 10 oz what a perfect name for a perfect little guy.

Thank you everyone else for your thoughts. I'm doing ok... I guess as good as can be expected anyway. I'm feeling really quite miserable today and just really, desperately want another baby! Obviously! It's just another kick in the guts.. three m/c.. I can't believe it. My poor Mum had 7 m/c and one bub that she lost at 6 months... so it's been pretty hard on her too.. to see her only daughter have to go through this. Hopefully we'll get some answers when we see our ob in Melbourne when we get back. Typically.. as always seems to be the case.. I have 2 baby showers that I'm supposed to be going to on Saturday.. I just don't think I can do it.
I'm just absolutely shattered.. as nervous as I was, deep down, I really thought everything was going to be ok this time. To make it worse.. none of my close friends over here understand what I'm going through.. they all continue to have happy, healthy little bubs at the drop of a hat... which I'm very happy about but at the same time.. it just makes it harder for me. I'm catching up with them tomorrow and as much as they care and try to understand, it's just hard.
OK.. enough ranting from me... I'm so sorry.. we need to celebrate the wonderful arrival of Bun's new little boy.. so gone are the tears (momentarily) and back out comes the smile. I really am thrilled for you Bun.. every bub that's born in here gives me more hope that I will get another precious bundle of my very own to cuddle again soon.

Your poor mum, I think it would break absolutely my heart to see my DD go through this. At the same time, you have someone who truly understands. My mum was great but admitted that she had no idea what I was feeling, having been lucky enough not to experience it herself.
Bun - what beautiful news on the arrival of your wee man, Joshua, I bet he's divine! Hope you are recovering okay from your labour, sounds like it was tough, I feel for you, report in when you can and enjoy this incredible time with your little fella xoxo
Kelly - you are amazing, despite your sadness, to be in here wishing Bun well. I know what you say though, that the babies born in this thread give you hope to continue on and try again - I agree with you, the babies in this thread are harder fought in the shadows of the losses of their siblings, and that makes them just a bit more special. I think everyone would agree with this. You'll get there hon, I hope to god it's your turn again soon. It sounds like you have some family history with miscarriages? Did your mum get any testing done, or was it too way long ago....? Don't expect too much of yourself for a while hon, you are going to feel like you know what, don't put on a cheery face if you just don't feel like it. Hugs again xoxoxo

Kelly I know what you mean about the baby showers. I went to one last week and boy o boy it was tough. I stayed for as long as I could but as soon as I got in my car and up the road a bit the floodgates opened up well and truly.
As for your friends..its hard for anyone to understand the pain and heartache we feel unless they have been through it before too. Just know that we are all here for you and I wish I could come give you a :hug: IRL cos I know I need one too. Please take care of yourself and yell and scream and cry when you need too :comfort:
Bek I used to hate when the shops had no baby trolleys left or the straps were broken. I got into the habit of taking my baby bjorn or sling with me just in case.

Kelly, I will definitely be here for you when you're 'home', but I really hope my belly isn't a kick in the guts for you. I totally agree with what you're saying about all the babies born in this thread being hard fought for, but I will definitely understand if sometimes it's too hard for you to see me :hug:. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason why there are some people we are comfortable with, or not, in our grief. But you need to just go with whatever makes you feel most comfortable (you too Mako!). If the baby showers are going to be gut wrenching for you, then don't do it.

Deb, do you know, I have actually had that thought!!!!!!! In a good way :). As in, even though it is still waaaaaaaay too early for this bub to be born, if s/he was they would have a fighting chance. Look at your beautiful girl!!!!
Thanks for the reassurance girls :). Everything has settled down today, so I didn't call. I would have if I wasn't seeing him tomorrow morning, but I figure it's less than 24 hours away, so not long! But seriously, all of your posts have helped me to feel better, it's obviously very normal to have painful BHs in subsequent pgs. So I'll just have to put up with it LOL!
Just a quick one girls - a bit of a rough day :(
Short story: Omar has a HB and is measuring well. Nuchal fold is normal thickness. Bloods though are showing a risk of 1/58 for Down's Syndrome. I know that means 57 times out of 58 it will be ok but still ........
Anyway, amnio is now booked for the 5th of February with my OB and preliminary results on the 9th. Formal results will be 2 weeks later.
So, DH and I are trying to process what this means for us and as a family :( What will be our next step if Omar does have a chromosomal abnormality?? Many tears and many thoughts running through my head. Neither option is a good one :( Praying to God and the Universe that this is just a hiccup in being blessed with a healthy new baby. Until then, we wait.
