bath time is the best fun at our house....
Well it used to be! Ds2 was upset so I got him out and started to dry him. All of a sudden DS1 starts crying and rubbing his eye...I called DH who was washing up so DS2 wouldn't be upset...I thought maybe DS1 had just got water in it with a bit of bath stuff...but he had opened the Gaia shampoo bottle and put it on his head and into is eye at the same time.....I freaked out and turned the tap on trying to get his eye under the water , while he thrashed around and screamed....DH became a bit scary at this point and just pushed him under the tap ..poor Ds1 was spluttering water everywhere, and was hysterical but still saying his eye hurt. So I jumped up and put him in the shower hoping to get him to lie back...he went stiff as a board and I had to be really forceful in trying to get his eye under then he kept screaming and I am trying to see if he is ok asking him are you ok does it hurt anymore and the screaming got louder so I Yelled at the top of my voice at him...I actually felt myself leave my body and was looking down at this physco woman yell at her nearly 3 year old It was terrifying...so i am fully clothed in the shower and I collapse on the ground with DS1 in my arms him sobbing and I just hugged him while I got drenched
I cant believe in a crisis I lost it and couldn't hold it together...all I could think of was omg he will loose his sight if I don't act fast and then he didn't co operate...as any 3 yr old would..then I loose it making it worse and DS2 is crying Dh is yelling at me for Yelling! the all I wanted to do was cry but couldn't...not one tear
He's ok now because you acted fast. You must have been so scared. You weren't yelling from a mean place you were yelling because of fear.
We all act out of character when we're scared.
Thanks girls.....I never knew I could yell like that and was this woman possesed I was terrified..I can only imagine what it was like for him . He is ok now watching care bears as a treat. x
don't be so hard on yourself .. It happened to me a few nights ago ds rubbed METHO on his face because hubby wasn't watching when he was cleaning his bike in the yard, ds actually came in a said " hot mummy hot " and I could smell him
I started screaming and ran to the shower, thank god he was ok but definitely a wake up for hubby ( I let him have it ) and me.. To watch ds and hubby.. Lol
Its ok you got the job done in the end and hopefully his eye will be fine now. Bloomin dhs yelling when half the time they would freak out worse than us...
Oh darling. Massive big warm comforting huggles to you! And your family too! Shampoo in the eye is a huge frenzy here too, on everyone's part. It's scary because they're in pain and every fibre in your body is focused on helping them and stopping the pain.
That's awful. But you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. I knocked DS in the head the other day, and he screamed and screamed - then I cried. The he cried. Then we both cried together. I was completely useless, and the more I cried, the more he cried, and the more I began to think I'd done some damage to his poor head. DH told me off too! Once I'd calmed down, DS calmed down and there wasn't even a bruise the next morning
I hope his little eyes aren't still sore. And I hope mumma is okay too!
