how do you feel during the day? are you really tired? or could you maybe push a slightly later bedtime with the reward of a nice tv episode you like or a good book? i find that after the girls are in bed at 7.30 i have a little ritual of a warm drink and a dvd episode. then i have a shower and tend to curl up beside DH with a book.
during the day i NEED to get out least once. even if it is just piling the kids in the pram/car for a coffee at the cafe...it can be a nice unwind for all of us.
i reckon it is so hard in those early months to connect with your partner especially if you both rely on eachother to help run the house etc. (ie in absence of family to help). but that will come again. and that is why we took to lying in bed together while reading or on the computer...it helped with the closeness while also allowing us each to have some down time.
I'm not usually in bed before 10pm, and am up at least four times during the night, and then awake for the day just before 7am. I'm whacked, and very occasionally I will go to bed more like 9pm, but I find I really need some time to myself at the end of the day after the girls are all in bed.
