DD is 5 and has started prep this year. I started noticing when washing her clothes that there was occasionally a bit of mess in her knickers - so asked her about wiping her bottom at school. She told me she did but over the weeks of repeated asking she has now said that she doesn't wipe her bottom at all when she is at school.

When she was first toilet training I wiped for her, and as time went on I taught her how to do it herself by her having a turn after me. She has been wiping fine with me around for a long time (nearly 2 years I think) and I have just stopped paying attention to it. Now for some reason she has decided that if I am not there with her then she doesn't have to do it at all - for a #1 or #2!!!

So we have been talking about it over the past few days now that holidays are here but she is now doing it at home if she goes on her own (which is most of the time). I am worried that she has gotten into a bad habit now and it's going to be really hard for her to break - not to mention the hygiene issues.

Has anyone had this problem? Could this be a bad habit that somehow she has picked up from school?

I had never noticed any problems like this when she was at daycare either.

TIA xx
