That must have been so scary for you, i am so glad tthe boys sat with her so mature of them!
i know its ot quite the same but i lost DD in target for almost 20 mins today it was a horrible experience

OMG How terrifying! Thank goodness for those boys. So many kids (or adults for that matter) wouldn't have bothered. Good luck finding them
ETA- Not the same but, I "lost" DS in the shopping centre a few weeks ago for about 30 seconds. WORST 30 SECONDS OF MY LIFE! and he was just behind the chair
You poor thing, how scary for you Glad everything worked out in the end, what amazing boys to take the initiative to sit with your DD and wait. Don't be so hard on yourself, these things happen, we're all only human afterall.

MG it wasn't until you mentioned but OMG I would have been such a sight. Those poor boys probably didn't know what they hit with me.
At least my two gorgeous kids are tucked up safe and sound in their bed. I have a funny feeling I'll be checking on them overnight. I sent DH done to Bunnings for extra door locks and he's going to put them on for me. Let's see the cheeky monkeys get out of here now - it's like Fort Nox.
Liviam, if it's the chain on the door just check they cannot squeeze through. I was at DD house the other day and after a bit heard voices and the boys were out the front with me and had squeezed through the door. Don't want to panic you but thought I should warn you.
I have no babies, but if i did, I'm sure there would be a time where I second guessed myself as a mother, judged myself and questioned my abilities. I also know, deep down, that none of my insecurities would be a reality. I hope you know the same babe. You are a wonderful mother, who is human. Your babies are too. Things are bound happen, and just thank god/the angels/the heavens above that everything worked out for you and your family!

I had an absolute panic attack the other day myself. Couldnt hear bunny, went out and she wasnt in the lounge or the kitchen but Sam had left the back door wide open - and the gate was open too. I freaked right out, running up and down the road, attacked by that rotten magpie that was lucky I didnt get my hands on it, went around the block, came back in the front to find out WHY DH wasnt out looking with me..
She had climbed up onto my bed and gone to sleep.
I know this does not change anything, and the whatifs are gonna hang around for a while. Thankfully they are both safe and sound. for you.
Oh hun how scary. the same nearly happened here today I went to the loo and Ds1 was on the stool with the keys opening the front door eeeek! Will have to hide the keys from now on!

FWIW my DD managed to get one of her chairs out the front 'unnoticed' and was standing at the gate trying to unlock it to let the dogs in.
I think it's the dogs, they lead them astray
And don't worry how the boys perceived you - they will just be chuffed that they did a good deed and helped out DD! Did you get their school details? Maybe write to the princpal and let them know - or you could send a thank you to the boys via the school.
My DD took off down the road the other day too. She also took advantage of me being in the bathroom to exit the house... except she got as far as the letterbox where the ants distracted her But my monkey thinks Mummy is batty because Mummy won't let her walk to the shops on her own at 8pm (in the dark!) to buy chocloate milk... on her own!
