lots of lip kisses here, kisses all over really. i think it's a sad world we live in if some people frown upon it.

:yeahthat: if people don't like that i kiss my baby on her lips then they shouldn't look nobody has the right to tell another person how they show their affection for their children.
And i kiss my neices and nephews on the lips, they come running up to me give me a hug and then a kiss. I've never thought of it as weird its just the way the family is. We greet each other with a hug and a kiss on the cheek but the kids are different. But we wouldn't let people outside of the family do it though.
I don't like people kissing me on the lips, unless it's Scott. I don't expect I'll mind much when it's my own baby kissing me in that gorgeous slobbery way, but I always get grossed out when family or friends try to kiss me anywhere but the cheek. Yuck.
'DS is a lip kisser and so is DD3 (Ruby). DDs1 & 2 are happy with forehead kisses but DD3 MUST have lip kisses (she chases your mouth for them ITMS). DS comes up to me and goes MMMMMMMMMMMMwah! until I kiss him.
And that is gorgeous! Why would anyone think that this is gross?
Heres a comment i read on the forum that made my blood boilThe bold bit is what made me so mad, how dare they tell us how we show affection to our children and to make it dirty! i was kissed as a child, when being dropped off at school we had to kiss our mum good bye. I was never embarassed or thought "wrong thoughts" because shes my mum.I think kissing a child on the lips is unacceptable. Why kiss them on the mouth when they have two cheeks and a forehead? I believe that kissing a child on the lips should not be associated with a show of affection from a parent. Television shows our children kissing on the mouth associated with sexual feelings. Let's not confuse our children.
I agree, its comments like the one you posted that make innocent things in the world dirty and sexualised, its similar to peoples issues with breastfeeding and saying that breast are for husbands and not for babies, that is society bending reality into some wierd sexual world where we cant do what is natural and normal....
On the view they also said that a parent should not bath/shower with thier child as this too was wrong....well, DD bathes with either one of us EVERY day!
I don't like kissing other ppl on the lips though
Yesterday DD was sucking on the side of my chin, looked in the mirror a big purple love bite LOL oh the love
yep, all for the kiss on the lips for the kids, baby ones are the cutest!!! however we have just had a "talk" with ds1 that a little kiss like mummy and daddy give you is a good kiss, but you dont try kiss your brother the way some people do. (u know the love sick ones that cant keep there mouths off each other, even at the shop or on the train.) and yes that talk was interesting to say the least!
I kiss my kids on the lips all the time..nobody will deprive me of my babies gorgeous kisses!! : )
I have though taught my kids that only mum and dad can kiss you on the lips and family kiss you on the cheeks, only because thats what me and DH are more comfortable with
Good point Teni. I also don't like lip kisses except from DH. For those who are comfortable with lip kissing, is lip kissing also common in their friend/family circles?
I'm not really comfortable doing it, for me it's the saliva thing..I don't even like DF's saliva on my lips...just a thing I have i guess! I've probably only kissed DD on the lips a few times. usually it's her cheeks because they are just so cute and squishy!
I don't have a problem with other parents kissing their kids on their lips, I just don't like doing it myself.
I don't do it, but i don't think anything is wrong with it!
